Help! I need suggestions for a window treatment over the bathtub.
Comments (3)For the window treatment, I would pick something that is very easy to open and shut because you need to reach over the tub to do it. It looks like the only function of the window treatment is to prevent people with binoculars from peering in, so if you are not worried about that, you might skip it all together or try growing a climbing vine around the window for fun and beauty. Or you probably get enough natural light to simply do a hanging plant in the corner. Have you thought about painting the window frame your favorite color, glossy, and then choosing towels, mats and accessories after that? As for softening the black and white, I don't think the light grays, whites and pastels of Scandinavian style are going to be strong enought do it. Instead, I would look for deep colors that are rich patterns of say, burgundy, or deep green, or navy, mixed in with black tones. I also happen to think dark towels and rugs are more practical in a bathroom. I'm not suggesting these particular pieces, or any combination of them, but just showing you some colors with underlying blackish tones I'd be considering. or if you don't like dark, bring in a combo of the colors from outside your window...See More1985 house HELP I need suggestions on exterior paint colors
Comments (2)It's a great house. These 'shed' houses look best to me monochromatic- I would paint everything (except the stone) Sherwin Williams Black Fox or Urbane Bronze. When you can afford it the deck handrails could use updating ( I would replace some sections with stadium stairs and others with glass). Otherwise punch up the landscaping a bit and you are good to go. The pine next to the house is so pretty, I don't love the cedar between the garage and the entrance, it looks like it is in the way?...See MoreI need suggestions for dining chairs to go with this table.
Comments (6)We did end up buying the rectangular version of the table and have been very happy so far. The wood is distressed enough that it hides scratches much better than our old Room and Board table we replaced. We haven’t put it to the test of a holiday meal yet, though! One great thing I realized anout it after they delivered the table is it would be easy to replace the tabletop and keep the base. While I have no immediate plans to do so, I could see at some point down the road finding a woodworker to craft a new top and keep the gorgeous metal base....See MoreI need suggestions, please!!! Powder Room/Mudroom combo
Comments (2)Please provide room dimensions, for both the mud room and the powder room. Are any of the windows to be removed? If so, indicate which ones will be kept. Label which room is which; indicate the size of the doors to be installed. Most importantly indicate where the water lines are in the plan. You will get much more help with that info. Thanks....See MoreAndrea Robbs-Allison
