Vanity Lighting Options Bathroom - cross post in bathrooms...
Comments (0)Hello! I'm really tight for space with my vanity - the vanity is 32" wide (33" with counter) and will be centered in an area between a wall and the toilet - area is approx 39" wide at it's widest. How can I put a mirror above the vanity and allow for side lights? Some of the side lights that I have found are only 5" wide and I can do a mirror that is 22-24" wide... Will this work? Thanks everyone - I'm going crazy trying to figure this out......See MoreBathroom layout options
Comments (16)Thank you for the response! We decided we didn't like option 4 either. The master bath was too constricted, and we didn't like the vanity butting up against the shower. We've decided to go with 1a or 1b. We like the second closet and the entrance it creates, but I my husband pointed out that he'd have no surface area to layout clothes and other items if the dresser were gone. Also, the bedroom is on the small side, and the extra space may help it feel larger. I'm not completely ruling out 1a, but we're leaning toward 1b. Not to mention, there would be a cost savings since we won't have to frame in a second closet or add shelves, and we already own the dresser....See MoreBathroom reno - backsplash tile and mirror options
Comments (10)Thanks both. mvcanada, we were thinking of buying a vanity/sink combo online so not necessarily able to buy extra material for backsplash and counter shelf, though if we go with a basic white it shouldn't be too hard to match, right? I can't decide if I would prefer a shelf that extends from the sink countertop, or one that is separate and between the sink and mirror. Might depend on which vanity we choose (still looking, as evidenced by my other post). But good point on running whatever we have to meet the large mirror. pamal66, can you clarify your last bit about the metal strip or pencil liner? Is that for the end of the backsplash on the edge of the sink so it doesn't feel like it just ends by accident? We did consider tiling the wall with the sink/toilet but we were feeling like the current half wall of tile was making the room feel smaller, and with the layout, we'd have to tile everything or just the tub (because tiling by the sink/toilet plus the tub but not the last wall where the vent is would just feel unfinished). We haven't decided on wall or floor colors yet, though the fixtures and tub tile will probably be a basic white. We love this floor: And these are some of our vanity inspirations: (this last one with a white top instead) One thought I had about the tile border was that if it doesn't match the tub tile, it could match whatever we put in the shower niche, but that's as far as I've gotten in finding an actual tile!...See MoreIs there a way I can visualize/plan bathroom reno options? HELP NEEDED
Comments (7)If you go to your local tile showroom I'm sure they will help you pick all the materials and recommend the right sizes etc. As far as visualizing it all, the most simple way without getting any crazy software, is to use power point. I make visual boards all the time on Power point by just cutting and pasting the items I'm using. You can format the pictures to remove the background and at least get a sense of all the finishes together. This one is super simple, but allowed me to see the wainscoting, flooring and wallpaper....See Morefelizlady
