New bathroom almost done
Comments (46)Ah...sweeby...so nice to see this thread again. I came by to ask a question, actually: how are you feeling about the *fixed* showerhead from HR? I'm considering getting a tub/shower set from them for DD's bathroom and I want to know about how they handle regular water pressure. It would be the cloudburst one--similar to yours in that I think it's all straight down, but only along some rays from the center, not a full field of water. Do you have any thoughts on this? Thanks again for sharing this beautiful room and I hope you're still enjoying it as much as you were earlier....See MoreCheap bathroom almost done (PICS)
Comments (11)I need to take and post some more pictures. Everything is grouted (is that a word?) and boy it looks real nice. We have the shower curtain up and the shower head and what not up now. It's now usable. I thought the marble tile might be too dark for this small of a bathroom, but it really looks good - very luxurious (making the rest of the house seem NOT SO luxurious!!):) The wooden 'accents' are gone - thankfully... I've purchased brushed nickle 'accents' and I'm happy with them - boy those puppies aren't cheap either! Toilet is gone - new one is not in yet... (thank goodness for a half bath!!) I DID go with the Cadet... I'm worried about the startle factor... anyone have any thoughts...? I AM having trouble finding the 'right' counter/vanity top. I really like my 'pump' fixture so we'll be keeping that - BUT it's a 4" fixture - and now a lot of the bathroom vanity tops are 8" fixture (holes). I did find one at a discount box store - Grossmans - it was granite and 4" holes for the fixtures, AND it was 37" wide but the width was 19"!! I need something in the 22" range! Does anyone have any thoughts regarding vanity/counter tops?? I'd like to be in the $150-$200 range for this... Thoughts? Attached is the link to my original post (it offers a few more pictures of the 'old' bathroom). Thanks! Here is a link that might be useful: Link to the other post...See MoreBathroom almost complete! Not sure how I feel about the granite?
Comments (10)I think it looks really great! That corner toilet is awesome. Maybe picking up some of the darker colors in the wall art and other parts of the bathroom will tie it all in better? My guess is once you get more accustomed to seeing such an interesting counter in your home and get over being a little out of your comfort zone you will love it! I go through the same thing when I buy a necklace or piece of clothing that is a little more bold or fashionable than my normal, and I am not talking about something outrageous either, just a little bit more fun than my boring normal....See MoreSemi-modern bathroom.. Tile is almost finished!!! Beautiful!!!
Comments (64)Yup, that's right. Blanco. They sent me a few samples of all the whites they have (no charge!) and I picked the truest, whitest white... the others were greyer, or bluer. I also wanted a more monolithic look, not the varied look that seems more common in glass mosaic installations, where there are irridescent and slightly different whites mixed in. Most places only sell those mixes, I found. Be aware that they do take on a cooler, bluer tone when set in thinset that's called white (but actually grey). If keeping it as white as possible is important to you, find a true white thinset. I'm now happy with the color, but was bummed at first because it didn't go with my original design palette (creamy whites and tan/neutrals). But the new palette works too!...See Moredrsaj
