Help with window treatment for off centered window
Comments (6)I don't think the centered thing will be an issue at all. And, as for ease of cleaning, I can't imagine they'd ever need a deep cleaning in bedroom. In a dining room or kitchen maybe, but not a bedroom. If you like the drapes, I say take em' with you. Moving costs can get so out of control that it seems silly not to reuse the items you already own, if you like them. If you have a good vacuum with an extension on it for upholstery, just hit em with that once a month or so to remove any dust build-up. I have linen pottery barn drapes in my living room that pillow to the floor - i vacuum the ends where they get dusty once a week and in the pleats where dust hides I only vacuum every few months - but that's about it. No dry cleaning routinely or anything. How often did you clean them before?...See Moreneed with with artwork placement -off center window
Comments (3)I would just add two smaller size pieces of art placed vertically to the right of the window... bad drawing below, but hopefully the idea comes across...See Morewindow treatments for off-centered window
Comments (8)I've had windows like yours in the past. you could do an "inside mount" rod -- kind of like how you mount a shower curtain. you'll need to mount the rod only about 1" down from the ceiling. that might be the weirdest prat of this setup unfortunately. use really light weight curtains (like sheers) so the rod doesn't flex down in the middle. get the pocket style (not grommet or rings). the idea would be that most of the time, the curtains are kept open, flanking the sides and serving as just an accent. this method will at least hide the industrial looking rod mounts. the trick will be to find a single rod that spans that entire width. you might have to go custom. in the past, I've actually used a galvanized pipe spray painted black. they're really strong, and you can get them cut to the perfect length at whatever store where you buy it....See MoreDrapes for off centre window
Comments (12)Thank you SimplyNatural. I agree totally about the placement of the sectional. I did in fact originally have the furniture arranged as you suggested. However, it didn’t work given furniture I have to work with — in particular the height of the nested end tables clashed with the low height of the ottoman end of the sectional. I’ve taken a photo from a different angle so you can see the space I’m working with. I LOVE your pic with drapes added! So I’ve made up my mind that the drapes can indeed extend to the wall. Thank you....See MoreIndecisiveness
