Not sure about why the black door in FLA. but why not a nice green either this tone or a lighter sage

Since the windows are white, paint the trim white. Then the siding a medium blue or sage.

How about a nice gray- blue with white trim? Would work with the roof and your door color choice.

When I was deciding on a paint color for my last home I drove nearby neighborhoods looking for something that appealed to me. Then I knocked on the owners door and asked them what color they used. They had a can and not only provided the name, but painted me a swatch on cardboard to take home.

Try SW Alabaster or even just their base exterior paint color. It’s white. Don’t be tempted to paint garage door black. It gets same color as body of house. Use black for your accents.

I never even considered white. Trim color exact same as house? I will test a sample. Thank you.

Here is mock up. Hard to do so excuse rough look but this can help you visualize. Then add small agave or similar drought resistant plants to your landscape.

Do match your paint to window color as close as possible.

Have you looked at the builders website for inspiration and paint combinations?

I think Flo's suggestion of white would look great with your black door and black accessories.

I really appreciate the ideas. After all that my husband hates the white idea. I guess I will try to find a sage color. Back to the samples. I did like on paper SW Dried thyme,Green earth or maybe eclipse

Shelly, a pale sage could work nicely with your trim and roof colors. I like this is Saybrook Sage from Ben Moore, but there are tons of choices. I think a light shade would work well in your case.

This was the before shot. I realize they have the black windows, but could you paint around your window w/that larger trim you have?

I have a similar style stucco home w/no windows visible to the front (there's a courtyard up front) but the house does have this trim molding. that was done in Wrought Iron and the stucco in Swiss Coffee. I think the wood-look garage door makes a huge difference.

I think it's important to bring in some wood or colored accents w/whites.

this one is taupe, but look at the wood and plantings. pretend those aren't there and you'd have one, dull looking exterior. Wouldn't hurt to up your plantings a bit

very similar Florida home ike yours. (minus the shutters) the yard is pretty similar. they went soft green and white. nothing special

Well, my husband had just finished pressure washing our white vynil fence when I asked him. He did say no I am not pressure washing every month. lol . This is also the man that wanted to paint the house black or charcoal. Hence why we have a black door.. I wanted the black windows so bad but I did not want to finance them. I am kicking myself a little bit on that one. He does love black so maybe if I try to make a photo of what it would look like with more black he would go for that. I can get my way if I really want to push it, but I want him happy also. I love the examples so much.

if it's any help, I havn't pressure washed my stucco since it was painted 2 years ago. if i'm out watering w/the hose i'll squirt down the walls, but i can't even tell a diff.

with all the rain you guys get, can't imagine yours would be worse than mine!

You don’t have to power wash every week that would be nuts. Once a year is enough. With any color. Just basic maintenance. You will need white trim no matter what. You could start with painting the entry portico white with your black door. That will give you a visual. It would make your house look new and fresh and beautiful. Sage is ok too, but it won’t look nearly as awesome as white and black.

I agree, start with painting the trim white. I suggest white trim because the frames of your windows are white and white trim will enhance them. Take it from there.

You could also do two tones of white. Brighter white on the trim and an white on the siding like Navajo White.

Great idea. I will paint some of the entry or trim and live with it. I will go get just some base exterior instead of finding an exact color for now. I am sure that will be close to the window color anyway. Man, I do wish I would have gotten those black windows now though. This is my mock with alabaster. Trim everything. Think it should be lighter? The lights now are black, you mean bigger lights. We are switching the path and flood lights to new black ones as well. I could put a black bench on the the rock at the front of the picture that you can see is bare. Previous owners had bird bath in that spot.

Sorry, one more thing. The back surrounds the pool. Is that white to bright with the sun and pool. You can tell I've never had a white house or a pool. We are going to re paint the pool deck as well so we can pick any color for that to mute the white a bit back there.

you could do the paint deck in a contrasting color if you go w/the white stucco. maybe paint the posts to the cabana a contrast? bring in some diff colors w/pots, chairs, maybe a teak beach?

you see the orchid wall? we did that ourselves with redwoo, coated it w a marine varnish.

you could easily make something like that and attatch it to a portion of the stucco wall to break up all of the white

or string some solar lights on them. potted plants,

then make a simple bench and put it under the wall hanging slats.

Yes you can do all white and moderate with wood pool furniture (faux if cost is prohibitive). And adding plants is great if you have green thumb! However, there are some very realistic succulents available that can add color, and no maintenance. SW Alabaster is great warm white. I just painted my whole house interior with it. Love it.

Here's your house with a white garage door to match the windows. You can paint the door as long as you use latex, acrylic paint. That will not void your warranty.

Flo, You had said white that closly matches the window. I got hubby going along with the program now, but he wants an off white. The alabaster doesn't match my "window white" Should I do my trim a lighter white and alabaster body? Before I run to the store for a gallon to try. Now I have the whole what white to use problem. Snowbound. Pure white?
