I would love help finding the perfect rug for this room!
Comments (9)Hi Annette Galloway- So sorry about your flood! Your room is lovely and a beautiful rug will enhance its look. $2000 is a lot of money and for that amount you should be getting a quality hand made Oriental rug that you have seen in person. These days you can get a great deal on a hand knotted Persian rug and you can get one in the size you need and the colors you want- ivory, tan, beige, brown, blues, etc for the money you want to spend. I would suggest first educating yourself on Oriental carpets, the types and how they are made and what the marks of quality are. Then go to a bunch of stores and be very polite and ask lots of questions. Say you are in the market but first you need to educate yourself before you buy anything because this is a big purchase for you. Don’t even bring your credit card so you won’t be tempted. Take a few months at least to learn in your mind and educate your eye and your hand. Then you can be ready to spend. If you have a very trustworthy friend who grew up in a culture with these carpets that you can take with you when you go shopping that is great, if not you can go by yourself. Good luck and happy shopping! Be sure to get a pad for under the carpet too....See MoreNeed ideas for exterior paint to go with pink brick on ranch house
Comments (5)Dark gray or medium gray for the stucco above the brick - yes. Paint garage door to match the stucco color you ultimately choose. Paint your front door an accent color. Choose your accent color after you have painted the stucco and garage door. Your green front door might even work as is depending upon the stucco color you select. I like how these colors work with the brick on the insp pic below. Shutters - no. Remove them. You don't need them. Here is a brief article why they won't ever work on those windows https://www.lifeofanarchitect.com/residential-architecture-101-shutters/ Landscaping would really help with your curb appeal. Comments (5)Hi, Jill, it’s hard to say without knowing how the rest of your house is decorated, what style(s) you like best, if you like patterns, want other colors, etc. Just based on your pictures here, a couple of ideas. These are not to scale, but just to give an idea and see if you like these looks or are wanting something completely different: https://www.potterybarn.com/products/pb-classic-tapered-metal-linear-chandelier/?pkey=cchandeliers https://www.cb2.com/indira-faded-red-rug/f18105 https://www.rugsusa.com/rugsusa/rugs/rugs-usa-faded-persian/Olive/200KSRS09A-P.html https://www.westelm.com/products/sculptural-glass-canned-5-light-chandelier-champagne-36-w3633/?pkey=c...See MoreHelp! Comments (14)From this Canadian website, https://thepaintpeople.com/painting-101/top-10-benjamin-moore-light-neutrals/ They mention "It was hard to decide between the two very similar brown-gray neutrals, 2111-60 Barren Plain and 2108-60 Abalone, so I’ve decided to mention both. They’re both comprised of violet/pink undertones, which is intensified under cool light (ie: daylight) and all but disappears under warm lighting, (ie: warm pot lights). These colours are rooted in a brown base colour that leaves the impression of a warm gray, but typically remaining light and neutral!" There is also Classic Gray – LRV: 74.74, Pale Oak – LRV: 69.89, Dreamy Cloud - LRV:76 meaning it will reflect quite a bit of light back into a room. In an intensely lit room with direct sunlight, it will fade out quite a bit but will regain its colour once the sun shifts....See MoreUser
