Call me crazy, but I like the round shape there, and it looks like you have plenty of lawn. Here's one idea: Replace the lower deck portion bringing it in line with the retaining wall so that it slightly juts into the circle. Replace the existing lower steps with ones that are wider, so that the steps repeat the theme of the upper ones but are off to the side a bit. Extend the pavers from the basement door into the circle. Then semi-enclose the circle with raised planters of bedding plants and seats, and put a fire pit in the center.

They look perfect to me. IIRC, you need a minimum of 7.5 ft. for lane width, so you're good there. The actual length of your steps is a matter of preference. I think if you have more than 4 or 5 people hanging out there, 12' is perfect.

You did a great job of capturing the colors and the mood of the painting. I love the magma supreme granite. Honorbiltkit Vuillard--Also a beautiful painting, full of interesting details and patterns. You captured the color of the rug in the painting, and the painting you chose for your design does a great job of mimicking the painting in the painting. If that makes any sense. Palimpsest Vuillard--You also did a great job of capturing the colors of the painting, playing up the neutrals a bit compared to Honorbiltkit. The floor--is it Marmoleum?--mimics the colors of the rug. Style-wise, the table is unexpected, but I really like it in the design. Pricklypearcactus Lanadscape with Butterflies--I like the interplay of colors in your kitchen just as much as in the original painting. I just want to say how very much I've enjoyed this thread. I liked the artwork, I liked the kitchens, and I liked all the creative thinking that went into putting them together.

Yes, photos. Pavers patterns are usually run uniformly along an axis throughout their field and are cut at the edges to accommodate curves. It's commonplace. Sometimes, the pavers are run curved. One would need to see a proposed plan in order to imagine what you might could do. Pavers are "flexible" and can be all kinds of creative. Yeah .... a flagstone path does not sound "modern."
