New Bathroom Vanity & Counter - Not Square Wall....Ideas?
Comments (20)Thanks everyone for the ideas! I'm still a newbie to the forums so I didn't know how to find my posts. We've thought about going down to the 24" or 26" vanity, but I think we need more space. The more we look at it, the more we are thinking we need to just go with a templated granite and have it custom made to fit the space. The idea of the side splash sounds great BUT I think because the space is in the back side of the vanity, either the side splash will wind up being too short in the front side of the vanity or the back splash will be too short on the right side of the vanity. Unfortunately we can't "scootch" the vanity over to the right any more as it is already crowding the toilet a bit. I think it comes down to two options: - a smaller vanity, 24" or 26" - a templated granite On a side note, we are going to put the bathroom on the back burner for now and concentrate on the only major renovation our house needs: the split foyer basement/lower level. Thanks again for all the ideas!...See MoreNew Black and White Bathroom Deco Ideas....Please?
Comments (6)Here's a photo of a pretty cool B&W bathroom - it's from an article in yesterday's Washington Post Home section about Allie Wentworth's house (she has her own cable series, is on Oprah every Friday as part of her panel show, and is married to George Stephanopolous). I like it. It's all b&w but the wallpaper is really striking. If the photo of the bathroom doesn't pop up immediately, just go to pg. 2 of the article and scroll through the slideshow - you'll come to it. Fun article too - very relatable and down to earth. Comments (8)Suggest a small white, cream or grey mat hung over tub which can be used for either tub or shower. We have the type below and it is super soft, drys quickly and washes really well, this one comes in dark grey as well If intetested https://www.cb2.com/cirrus-white-bath-mat/s571940#modal You could add a 3x5 patterned washable rug - don’t suggest oval (measure first to see what you think) in white, or cream with grey. Idea below is from Ruggable, but expensive - just providing to show a good look for your bathroom....See MoreNew bathroom decor ideas
Comments (19)I've been thinking about it, too. Try finding towels and a curtain in the same or similar tone that you painted the walls. I think a monochromatic look is more soothing and spa-like. You already have white toilet, sink, and tub. You can add more white with a faux floral arrangement of white flowers. I like your idea for floating shelves where towel bar is (you could put extra towels on it, too). Then a piece of art with white matting and a dark chocolate brown frame. PS - just looked at your pictures again and I think the towels and decor you already have are fine - at least in the pictures, they appear to match the walls. All you need is a lighter shower curtain in same tone as walls and towels, and a more impactful piece of art, slightly larger. And try white buds/flowers idea. I still like your idea of shelves over the toilet....See MoreEmily D
