This is a Blackberry lovers dream
Comments (66)Hi...i got several of the Prime Ark Freedom Blackberries, one plant has been in the ground 2 years the other 2 just since this March.......the newly planted one is growing rather good with 1 Blackberry almost ready to pick , however that is it for the plant as i'm assuming these are Primocanes, unless these are laterals off off the Floricanes ? This was a 2 inch plug i got there was very little growth so all this green growth i would assume is just laterals but as far as the rest of the season goes since this is a double cropping blackberry and like a Raspberry the Fall Crop would be on the tips of the Primocanes. I'm not that familiar with this cultivar at all, and or it's growth habits, i got lots of suckers that have emerged as new plants so i'm thinking eventually the fruiting laterals and buds will show up on those. If anyone has this variety familiar with the Summer and Fall Crop and about when the summer crop starts and when the Fall Crop starts i'm in New York ....Zone 7. Here's a pic of my first Freedom Blackberry As you can see the cane growing here is almost parallel with the ground with just one Berry at the tip, i'm wondering will i get more berries on the rest of this cane this Fall or have to prune it just below the fruited portion of the cane here, or is it a lateral coming out of the crown not sure. This pic shows the whole plant with the Primocane about 30 inches tall, the one on bottom and right could be a lateral off Floricane at base or a Primocane that grew weird like that Any and all help is welcome...See MoreH. nummularioides- giddy and over excited!

Comments (13)GG, looks like your buotii got the memo, mine didn't (shhhh!). I watered it well, it perked right back up and didn't even lose one leaf. Ok, maybe one, I don't remember. But if so, that's it, just one. Someone may have leaked the memo to sp. Tanna Island though. It looks great, but if you feel the leaves they are very limp. I feel like it will pull through, but it isn't responding as rapidly as the others. Fitchii already looks right as rain. I think it got too much light in the window though, it is pale yellow green. I was hoping for some red coloration. Guess that's not happening there. I'm glad everyone seems to be on the upswing out of the funk. The funk was not the good kind of funk. I agree, even the thought that my plants weren't doing well was enough for me to want to avoid them. The violets are looking pretty sad. As is my stephanotis. I think with care they will all recover though. I don't know if I can pull off the outside hoyas this year then. There isn't any real shade and no way to create it, really. It's a narrow space with a few large obstacles (ridiculously large AC unit, smoker/grill, trash can) and I can't block access to any of these items. Also, my landlord is promising a new fence this year (though he has promised that for the past three) and I don't really trust anyone he has working for him to treat my plants nicely. But we'll see. Maybe I can test out a few bits of hoyas, so that I won't lose the whole plant if it doesn't work out....See Morecat lovers: where did you put the dreadful litter box?
Comments (43)Wow! Thanks to everybody for all of the your creative suggestions!!! I am still debating on the better location. It's either going to be in the garage or the basement bathtub (that no one EVER uses). For what it's worth, we use Tidy Cats clumping litter and it seems to do the best job for us. I also installed one of those intermittent spray air fresheners (runs on batteries and hangs on a simple nail) just over the tub where their box is. That has made a great deal of difference...but It's not enough to make me want a litter box off my foyer anymore! Natal, thanks for asking about the basement. It really got me rethinking my position on that. My reasons for avoiding using it as a litter spot is that since our renovation, the basement is just soooo nice now...I just hate to have that durn box, the scattered litter, the smells, etc. down there! The only place it can go is the tub though. My concern with that is that the tub is acrylic, and I am afraid of getting too many scratches. But, I'm thinking that if I get a couple of throw rugs to line the tub and lay over the edge, it might not be a problem. Now I'll just have to find a way of keeping them from clawing up the leather furniture that's down there...(maybe we'll have to re-try Soft Paws...hmmmm...) Sujafr, Thanks for the warning about losing the fire-rating on the door to the garage. I would not have thought of that in a zillion years. Hmmmmm...now that option does not seem so great. My DH will certainly hate the idea knowing that little tidbit. I'm glad I did not do my usual thing and just impulsively hack a hole in the door! Jeanne gallo--wow!!! That little cut-out for the kitties is awesome! I so want that in my next house!!!! Do you mind if I save a copy of the photos?? Thanks again, everybody! You guys are THE BEST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!...See Morestupidlazydog CT zone 5b/6a
