I keep finding these bugs inside my rose petal and my hydrangeas too. are those some kind of beetles?

if you see no damage.. there is nothing to do about them ...

but knowledge is power.. so dont get me wrong on getting an ID ...

it appears to be a pollinator ... but how many of us grow roses for rose hips ...

besides... you cant spray a bloom.. or it is immediately ruined .. and done with ... so what can you do about it???

Any chance of a better photo? It has more of a bug feel than beetle feel but the details aren't clear enough.

Those bugs may be a part of the problem or they may be of no concern. The pictures are too fuzzy to see. You may wish to take a couple into the local office of your Texas A & M Cooperative Extension Service for identification. What has your weather been like? Good call, I think you are right. Seems like they must love the moisture under the mesh. Not sure what to do about that though. If I remove it, my son will make a mess of it.

Thank you! I did some Google research on wooly aphids and I think you might be right. I am glad I caught the problem early before they did too much damage. I think I'll try spraying the plants with a mixture of castle soap and water. I really appreciate the help!

Thank you! Wow, that appears to be the bug! I've been using the same mix, minus alcohol. Although, I did use alcohol when fighting scale bugs but didn't think it was an important part of it, but more for dissolving the oil. I will keep using the same regimen then. Thanks again!
