dark navy crib- girl's room-help!
Comments (10)PBK used to carry "Abby" bedding in nursery and kids. I bought my daughter the big girl set for when she moves out of her crib. There's a bit more navy in it then in these pics. It's gone at PBK but I'm sure you could find something similar. It's a nice color combo with navy for sure. While girly it is not, you know, frilly. I know Serena & Lily (though way out of my price range) had a beautiful pink and navy scheme a few years ago for a nursery. You might want to check them out for inspiration too. Comments (22)Ok second question: trim for doors & two windows...paint or stain to match door? There is no baseboards yet but I plan to paint them as well as the small trim at top. Still undecided if I'm painting or staining the ceiling. I'm adding photos below of different looks. (Btw the paint is the first coat of BM Linen White & even though it may look like it the trim is currently not stained at all. The door is stained Minwax Provincial). And while we're at it go ahead and give me your opinions on staining vs. painting the ceiling. For what its worth this bedroom and the mirror image of it on the other side of the wall are additions to our mobile home. So these two rooms are the only ones w/ beadboard ceilings. And yes I know it's "just a mh" but it's where we'll most likely spend the rest of our lives. We tend to have a rustic vibe and there is a lot of wood throughout the main portion....See Morehelp with little girls room
Comments (29)Hello, The colors and the furniture are just fine, very girly. It does not really matter how you set up the furniture in the room. You will need the same floor space. However, to maximize your daughter's space on the floor for playing, I suggest using your walls and possibly even the ceilings. You could use small or bigger wall units or hanging frames for attaching items on, think of hanging bags on hooks or basket etc. to keep the floor space available. Regarding the style and the costs, these are small changes but you can spend as much or as little if you want. You could use designer pieces for the wall units or you could go for DIY- for instance using a wooden mattress frame on nice hooks on the ceiling above the bed or on the ceiling where you enter the room. Alternatively, a metal frame coated in white to have it disappear with the background. As an add on, you could use these little lights with feathers or so around the frame, to give it a dreamy feeling. By making use of other spaces than the floors, you add not only storage for toys, personal items, and creative things that your daughter makes, (I am sure she has loads of them during staying indoor time) but you also give more dimension to the room. Just make sure that colors and shapes are returning to keep it calm and create certain areas in the room with an assigned function (it does not matter if that is in the air or on the floor). You can think of: sleeping, reading, playing, studying, etc. I hope this helps you. Regards from Switzerland. Twin or other size bed? Maybe put the bed opposite the window or directly in front of it. Do you have pix of the furniture you're expecting?...See Moreaelem
