Two Toned Purple Iris With Purple Stain At Base Of Leaves
Comments (7)Hi Darla, I may have one like it, do you have the exact height by any chance? When you need to identify an iris, the height and flower size are very important. It narrows the search when you know the classification. I found several with the exact same shade but too tall. Mine by the way is 27" tall. I wrote the name in one of my old garden journals but I can't remember which, so it's going to be a long search. Here is a link that might be useful: ArtistGarden.net...See MoreCan anyone help me I.D. these purple iris?

Comments (3)Hello, Meg! I would like some. Is there a particular toadlily you might want in exchange? I have several types (T. hirta and T. h. 'variegata', a little low on that one, T. Miyazaki hybrids, and T. 'Hatatogisa' & T. 'Sinome' which I am unable to tell apart until they flower). I have an over abundance of sunflowers (of the perennial variety) including (but not really identifiable by me...sorry) Helianthus maximilliana 'Sante Fe' & 'Lemon Yellow', H. giganteus 'Sheila's Sunshine, H. angustifolius 'Mellow Yellow', H. simulans, H. flore-pleno, and H. 'Lemon Queen' (and possibly some interbred seedlings). I have some things all ready potted (and as yet unclaimed) for the MAG swap this coming weekend (panic! panic!) that I could bring or you could do a shovel tour here. If so, the weeds weren't here before, honestly. Let me know. Thanks, Kent...See MorePurple iris ID, please
Comments (3)After your house they came over here. Not 'Unfinished Business' --- it's a SA with lav-white standards.. Yours looks like a bitone historic and close to 'Amas'. 'Alcazar' would be another to look up. 'Ann Newhard' & 'Germaine Perthuis' --- looks like their beards are solid yellow to the outer end. Can't tell from the photo about the beards on yours. 'Buto' - not sure if hafts match. 'Mauna Loa' photographs more "pinkly" but otherwise very close. 'Tamerlan' is a possibility as well as 'William A. Setchell'. Getting close-ups of the beard and haft area would help, full on and side view. Also a full on shot of one bloom and a side shot of one bloom. Good luck....See MoreL Clark (zone 4 WY)
