Paint Home Decorating Design Dilemma

Paint color help

Can anyone recommend a paint color for this fireplace wall? We purchased a new mantle and unfortuatenly when repalcing it it was discovered the old brick was not stable so we quickly had to pick out a new stone and i feel the wall color now looks muddy the other walls at BM white sand and the entire house is painted in this color so it has to stay. would like a grey that will not clash with the black slate hearth.

Assuming you want an accent wall, B.M. Nightingale is gorgeus. Works so well with Warm Sand (which shows so dark in the sample) and the stone.

I'm not an expert but when choosing paint colors, I prefer contrast. I would get a few samples and paint some spots on the wall to see what works the best with your tile. If the tile leans more towards white I think a soft sage color would be pretty with the elements you've described, but if your tile leans towards a brown, it's hard to say. If you can post pictures, it would really help.

I love grayed greens for walls Seasalt is a nice one from SW. IMO nature uses greens as a neutral alot more often than gray or beige.

First improve the lighting From that electrical you have in the ceiling you could run probably at least 10 LEDs in 4” pots all ove rht eceiling get them in $000k range then worry about wall color.

Pure Performance egg is my favorite. It's not shiny but it has slip. However, darker colors do show up a smidge shinier. Which is normal because that's what colorant does but it's still not too shiny. SW's Cashmere lo lustre is my second favorite. Not as much slip as PP but I still find it pretty durable to clean. It also touches up nicely with a dampened then dipped sponge brush. Multiple thin coats, never a fat coat. Close second/third is Aura matte. If all else fails, you can touch it up. Again dampened then dipped sponge brush works best. Multiple thin coats, never a fat coat.

I have that exact same stone on my floor (honed) It's Silver Travertine.

I painted the walls in that room Calm and Kendall Charcoal for an accent.

this is also a nice shade.

You could also try SW Crushed Ice

the stone has a lot of brown tones, so stay away from any blue/grays or cooler colors.

Thank you! Thoughts on Bm chelsea grey? I think we want lighter than Kendall Charcoal but still want it to be an accent wall.
