Comments (9)I'm not always a huge fan of Jeld Wen windows either, but remember they do offer different lines with different pricing and quality. For example their Custom line out of the Oregon plant is a very nice product. The Siteline EX and Traditions Plus lines can work just fine depending on the project. The do make a Builders Series that leaves a little to be desired. Just like Andersen and Marvin they make different products for different customers. Vinyl windows with SDLs will still likely be less expensive than wood windows, but they still look like vinyl which you'll need to be ok with. As an aside, I have Andersen WoodWright 400 Series windows in my house and I'm not completely thrilled with them. I can feel a draft on cold days and I don't like it. I agree with the previous posted that a well build vinyl window will typically provide better ratings and a tighter seal....See MorePurple Diamond Loropetalum Problems
Comments (6)transplant shock from planting last fall .. plus of course.. pulling it out again to look at it ... is part of the equation ... i dont know or do CA ... would you really get aggressive growth in your version of winter ... on a recent transplant??? but my biggest question is.. did it start growing roots into the native clay ... or was it very easy to just pull out because it did not ... if its was only growing in your highly amended soil .. then that might be an issue ... was the plant severely pot bound when purchased.. did you do anything about that??? often.. clay is very fertile ... and once the plant gets its roots into the clay;.. you dont have issues like this ... the problem with clay.. is the transplanting and getting them established ... a big part of which is properly watering have you ever had the clay tested ? ken...See Morecyn427 (z. 7, N.
