IMO wood look tile is already dated and also never really fooled anyone and was always best installed at least where real wood would have gone , so not in a bathroom at all. As for gloss versus matte I think a gloss tile is a bit easier to live with and in your case I would do the same 12 x24 tile on both the bathroom floor and shower walls so maybe the mmatte finish on the floor and the gloss in the shower could work . BTW those tiles need to be installed with as small a grout line as possible the sample you show is awful I aslo wonder why the design of the drawers on the vanity and also no pink in a bathroom unless everything else is just plain white please. You choose wall color last and before that make sure all the lighting is LED 4000K . Keep your choices simple and you will love the space for a much longer time. Add color with accessories and towels there is nothing classier than an all white marble bathorrom so maybe look at porceliantile that looks like cararra marble and use that instead .I have no idea of your stlye in the house so I don't like the vanity but maybe it works with whatever you have going on in the house .

I think shinny tile in bathroom especially shower area might be slippery when wet. Also, are you saying those large tiles for INSIDE the shower floor? That would be especially slippery. I think folks put smaller version tiles on shower floors because the multiple grout lines prevent slipping.

Not a pro, but agree with Patricia that your components don't really mesh well. Your flooring seems rustic looking compared to the vanity, tile and paint color. Generally wood look tile seems like an unlikely choice for a bathroom where you wouldn't expect to have a wood floor. There's more to choosing tile than color/style (function and safety) so educate yourself on R ratings and which tiles should be used for flooring, shower area and walls. Definitely peruse threads about waterproofing (truly the stuff of nightmares on Houzz) and proper installation steps before your bathroom work begins and document with photos the products used and each step/layer of the installation.

Thanks for all the recommendations. The tiles are only on the walls since it’s a tub and shower combo so no worry about slipping. This is a picture of something my contractor suggested to put in the wall behind the vanity and the toilet butting up against the showery in combo. It’s called shiplap. This goes better with the floor don’t you think?

I would not do that wood look tile on the floor or the wall w/this marble-look tile. they don't work together. One is more rustic, the other more elegant.

Outside the shower is fine IF you don't think it's slippery. If it is, use a mosaic verision of that tile, or smaller size so the grout lines can acta as traction.

Or just use a solid color floor tile.

Thanks Beth, but the floor is already purchased and it flows into the kitchen as well. Maybe I should change the tile then. Even though I love that time. I’m on a budget and my contractor already purchased the floor.

Would not run that flooring up the wall doing a shiplap look.

I think you can use the shiny tile you like in the shower area with your floor tile, but do NOT use the floor tiles on any of the walls. You might be happier though with a shower tile that has less variation since the floor will also have texture and you'll need tile behind the sink as well. It would be best to use the same tile for both areas. Or get a vanity without the countertop and have a self backsplash made with the countertop, so you don't need tile on the whole wall area.

Everyone has their own likes and dislikes, so take all opinions with a grain of salt. :)

I'm not a fan of the shiny marble since it feels very formal and cold to me and not a very cozy showering experience -- but I think where you live also influences this to some extent, I'm in the far north and avoid cold surfaces whenever possible.

If you do that pretty rose paint with the gray wood flooring, you might want something a bit warmer in feel for the shower walls? Maybe creamier and softer than the marble in tone?

Shiny porcelain tile for the shower walls is fine, but for safety reasons, I prefer textured non-slip tile for the shower floor and the bathroom floor. In my master bathroom, the entire shower and bathroom are textured porcelain and the double-vanity counter is a coordinated polished granite.
