I would like to second peytonroad's suggestion about the backsplash tile. Use the blue glass tile but also incorporate some of the tan tile into the backsplash. You have a nice, long span of backsplash and I think that could really tie it together. I also like the idea of having your contractor take the blue tile band all the way out to the edge. Even though a door will be going in, that will make the blue accent look more purposeful and finished. I agree with lukkiirish and others that more blue on the walls is a good idea. I like your blue tiles and I don't think the combination is a mistake - you do have the "sand and sea" look and sweeby makes a great point about adding colorful accents. I have a feeling, if you take some of these suggestions, you will love it in the end.

Hi dmac, cabinet paint is Sherwin Williams matched to Benjamin more’s white dove OC-17, pendant lights were from bellacor, barstools are from restoration hardware (they weren’t expensive though), subway tile is daltile rittenhouse in arctic white.

Well, I just wrote a lengthy post with pics to follow up and thank everyone for their feedback, ideas, and pics, and it didn't post! I am guessing it had to do with the photos, so I will try this again with just a photo here and if it works I will post more separately. We ended up going with LG Everest for the counters (island and perimeter) and Sonoma tile in Aquarius for the backsplash.

I'm looking at white oak with one of the lighter grey stains @MA Scag - I would not have the beautiful white oak and then put a grey stain on it. You might as well then not spend the money for white oak. The whole point of spending extra on white oak is due to its appearance. Remove the grey stain from your choice. Or, if you really want grey cabinetry, then don't get white oak and instead choose one of the painted grey finishes.
