Hi emily im considering using this exact one as well, did u end uo using it? are u happy with laminam? im wortied about chipping and wondering if i should do quartz or granite instead

I did not end up using it because the slab wasn’t large enough for my island and I didn’t want to seam it. I went to a place that sold granite, quartz, and porcelain and the person I spoke with was very knowledgable about all 3 products. The info she gave me made me feel comfortable with the porcelain. Porcelain will be the new quartz, just like quartz became the new granite. There are only two drawbacks for me. The beautiful pattern is surface only, unlike granite or quartz, so the portion of countertop around your sink cut out will be solid white. The other is that it can be difficult to fabricate, so be sure the fabricator has worked with it before. The stone yard should he able to tell you who to call for fabrication. The honed version is just exquisite. If you use it, I hope you post a picture to this thread.

A good fabricator with drop the pattern down from the edge of the counter. It helps immensely to get an actual sample and also to do internet searches of bathrooms or kitchens pictures with that porcelain to get the overall effect. It helps to see an actual slab. I will keep some leftovers for repairs. I read that the fabricator needs to be certified for Laminam. Porcelain slabs are very difficult to install so you want to make sure your contractor has a lot of experience installing porcelain slabs.
