It is not what you expected, but it really is not bad. Once your have landscaped the front of the house it will look more tied together.

Fill in the brick planter on the right with a variety of small bushes. Plant an ornamental tree out in the yard centered between the two right windows on the right.

On the left, install a garden on the street side of the walkway. Include annuals and perennials for color.

i agree its not the worst ive seen, if you can i would remove the columns coming out of the planter, just so its not at noticeable, but i think filling them with pretty flowers will bring attention away from the brick also.

I would paint the brick a light color that blends with the stone. Is the roof the gray-ish color it appears on my screen? If so, I would pick a light gray from the stone that also works with the roof. Mixing brick with stone can be iffy. At this point I'd try to downplay the brick somewhat by making the color blend more with the stone.

Agree some plantings on the right will help. Just wondering if the three columns could at least be shortened to the wall level...?

The columns you see is actually a small patio not flower beds

Some plants on the flower bed on the right just not big enough to show. painting the brick a light grey to go with roof is an option i guess. will have to see if i can use an app to play with the coloring
