same here. And the autocorrect behaves even more illogically, if that’s possible. AlsoLeo, comments I submit don’t show up and i end up submitting duplicate comments or pictures as a result. Crazy Crazy.

Must be iOS. Check out the predictive text. The box on the left is stringing together every keystroke

Big problem for me too on iphone. I can't dictate and if I use predictive text, it only puts in as far as I had got when starting the word. Of course I don't look down to catch it and it becomes a jumbled mess. A single sentence can suddenly replicate like a wet gremlin.

Rather than edit my above post, everyone with Apple product needs to write/chat with Apple and report this issue. i asked about it and got nothing in response, even tho i was on chat with a tech. So the more this is reported, maybe they will initiate a fix.

The delay happens to me, too, on the iPad. But only sometimes. it did it this morning, but not now.

On my phone, sometimes it locks up in the middle of a sentence. If i Select All and hit ”copy” (just in case.j), its usually fine.

Happening to me too. I thought it was my aging laptop or its keyboard glitching. But come to think of it, it never happens when I'm typing an email, only when I'm on typing comments on a Houzz Forum, so I guess I don't need to blame my laptop on this one, lol.

Hard to say if the deficiency that needs to be corrected resides with Houzz or Apple. Based on how things work (or don't) around here my bet is on Houzz, especially since I don't have the problem anywhere but here.

I also use an accessory keyboard with the iPad if that makes any difference.

Same problem here with apple products…. i wouldn't suspect it’s an IOS problem though — I suspect it is the way Houzz implemented their website. Without looking at their source, I think they probably used microsoftMicrosoft/IE for development and html features that IE supports that are not part of the HTML standard.

OMG !! Ive been going crazy over this! my ipad wont automatically make contractions anymore it wont automatically add a period when i double space it wont correct spelling it wont capitalize ”i” anymore It will add in a word twice

it is now PAINFUL to try to post comments on Houzz. My keyboard works fine in two other forums where i post comments once in awhile. It also works if I send a text from my ipad. Also Also, it will just freeze while im typing - and then suddenly jumps ahead and adds everything i typed

I also spoke with Apple Care - he couldn’t figure anything out. He said that it’s a Houzz issue. BUT - it worked fine until sometime last week. I think maybe that’s when a new update came out?

I love my iPad for reading books and surfing. But I hate typing on the keyboard beyond a sentence or two. If I have more to say, I'll just leave it and use my laptop instead.

Yesterday I ran into everything dmac said above. Every time I hit the period, it would repeat the last word I typed. Why would it only happen with iOS on this site?

I'm also noticing something here on my MacBook (MacOS 11.4). When I compose in the dialogue box, the text is smaller and the spacing between paragraphs isn't apparent. Once I hit Submit, it looks okay, but it used to look the same in compose/edit mode until recently.

I am still having the issue periodically but on multiiple sites not just here. I detest apple.

@Bunny - I hate apple right now also! It is so FRUSTRATING! I try to help with some legal stuff in order to ”give back” to others on here. However, it’s becoming very annoying. I needed to post a long comment earlier - and I really wanted to stop due to all of the issues - but I didn’t want to leave the user who I’ve been trying help stranded.

My SO bought me a MacBook Air about 6 - 7 weeks ago for my bday. I was really surprised - I did NOT ask for one - and I’ve NEVER mentioned wanting one. I’ve always been a PC girl. The FIRST TIME I used it for work, it locked me out - after I saved a document that i had worked on for FIVE HOURS. The apple care associate it was like, ”well, guess we are going to have to do a hard reset.” Basicslly, she was ready to wipe it clean after about ten minutes of trying to troubleshoot it. Give me a break.

I don’t know if my MacBook is having issues like my ipad and iphone - I havent used it since the lockout issue - unfortunately, I waited too long to even try it - so so, I was past the 14 day return window. My daughter keeps telling me that she will take it off my hands if I want. My sister told me that she gave hers to her daughter after a couple weeks.

I only have an apple phone because my entire family bugged me about getting one. It’s been okay - nothing exciting - but nothing bad.

I have had an iPad from basically the beginning (second edition) - this is my third one - and I’ve loved having it. This last time, I also bought a smart cover keyboard. I hate typing on it - and I had a bluetooth one - but never would think about grabbing it (hmmm. . . wonder where that is??!?!). This keyboard is a piece of CRAP! It has connection issues all the time. I was constantly receiving a pop up message— “accessory not supported” - when I’m wasn’t using it (for awhile it was around 5 times/hr before I figured out what was causing it (apple care told me it was for incompatible accessories - I wasn’t using any - I specifically asked about whther the keyboard woukd be triggering it - was told that it wouldn’t). Now it won’t connect at all.

Have called several times about it - and then i recently read that Apple vountarily decided to give a THREE YEAR extended warranty on it. Hmmmmmm. . . apparently Apple finally realized that it’s a piece of crap. Too bad it only took about 4 years - there were MANY ISSUES with it for a few years before i ever purchased mine (impulse buy at the store).

dmac1108, please note that I do NOT hate Apple. I love Apple. However, I'm sorry you're having problems with your Apple products.

As for the problems I've had posting comments on Houzz with my iPhone and iPad, it's stupid, but I have other options (my MacBook and iMac) and this will one day be resolved. iOS devices are great for consuming data, but I don't like typing on them beyond a sentence or two.

The other thing has been going on for a long time — wrongly facing quotation marks. Example: ”So she said blah blah blah.”

Yeah my Apple products are great - Houzz Houzz, not so much. I only typed Houzz once by the way - apparently Houzz likes to see the name an extra time.

I have all Apple - laptop, phone, pad, watch - and I only had the delayed typing on my laptop - but it was also happening on my email too. So after a few days turned the Macbook off and when I turned it back on the problem was gone. I have no idea what caused it.

Still happening on my ipad too. And when i use my iphone (rarely), i constantly have to login each time. I guess that isnt awful, but inconvenient on the same day, maybe just an hour later.

keeping fingers crossed for a “fix“ whenever the next iOS update happens. I am really getting tired of this. Lately, the biggest pain has been that the letters will freeze while I’m typing. Sometimes what I’ve typed will suddenly appear - sometimes it just stays frozen.

Guess I need to try my MacBook Air again. I just miss having the touch screen while using it.

@Jilly - just read your comment re: quotations - then noticed my quotations marks above - and second one is backwards and upside down?? Different than when I posted a comment a month ago - they were like yours. The closing quotation mark was correct - but the opening wasn’t. So odd.

Weird things happening on my iphone along with delayed typing.

I went to settings hit reset then, hit keyboard, then hit reset autocorrect and tunrned of perdictive text abd the issue resolved on this site. still have jeyboard delay and funny noises on BP paint app search feature though.

It started happening after an update a few weeks ago it is an apple issue.
