No! I prefer my bedroom and bathroom to be two separate rooms with a real door between them. What happens if you have different schedule from your spouse or one of you is having medical issues ... you will get light from the bathroom shining into the bedroom when the other person is trying to sleep.

We have stayed in hotel rooms that are set up like your photo and we hate them every time!

What about Personal Privacy glass, Switchable glass? Opacity is controlled with a switch.

A glass wall between the shower and the bedroom? That'd be a hard no for me:

- Everything you do in the shower -- like washing your butt -- isn't necessarily something you want to share with your spouse.

- I assume this means you'd have a view through to the rest of the bathroom. Again, some things you do at the sink -- like popping a zit -- aren't things you want to share. Bathrooms should be private places.

- Light from the shower would disturb a sleeper -- could be a problem late at night or early in the morning. I suppose you could shower in the dark.

- Glass is harder to keep clean than tile (or other shower materials).

- Would you really enjoy the view while you're showering?

Judging from the ! at the end of your topic sentence, I think YOU are pretty excited about this possibility, but I think you should think through what it would be like to live with this "wow factor".

It's a no for me too on both clear and frosted. It happens where one of us has to shower while the other is sleeping and the light would certainly be an issue.

I can't imagine spending anything on this kind of feature because it would be completely worthless to me. If I was looking at a home for potential purchase and it had this feature I would look elsewhere because I certainly don't want people in the bedroom having a view through a window into the bathroom. For most people, the ability to shut the bathroom door and do whatever in privacy is a feature and not a detriment.

I have a great view in a high rise but I don't feel the need to look at it when I am in the bathroom - I have plenty of time and opportunities to enjoy the view. However, the thing about views is most of the time I don't really focus on my views - people will visit and exclaim about the view and I will go oh right it is a nice view :-).

However if you think that being able to look out a window while you are showing past your bedroom will enhance your enjoyment of the bathroom and you can afford it, then go for it. I remodeled for myself only so I don't think someone should forego personal stuff that will enhance their enjoyment of the home. However do keep in mind that this feature will actively deter people who have no desire to view or have others view their bathroom from their room.

One other thing I thought of….as soon as you turn on your shower that window will steam up and you won’t see a thing (unless you’re taking a cold shower).

Many high end hotels at beach side locations have this feature between the bath and the bedroom. The bedroom has the view, and the bath is on the interior, however. Those set ups usually have shutters or some other device between the rooms so that privacy can be achieved, if wanted.

I'm mostly neutral on this idea; depends on the price and budget-prioritizing other luxuries. My husband, however, might totally go for a see-through glass wall between the master and the master bath. We'd end up doubling our family size, no doubt.

Looks like curtains can be easily hung for both aesthetics and privacy, if/when privacy is desired, yes?

I saw this in a condo on the ocean, it was very neat and a great idea. However, it did have the switchable privacy glass (it smoked up when you switched it). If it was just a clear window I wouldn’t do it.

Some hotels have a hot tub in the bedroom but that doesn't mean it is a feature that homeowners would want in their own home. 😀

I am very much on the side of a homeowner doing exactly what they want when they build or remodel so if OP feels that being able to look out a window over their bedroom to take an advantage of a view would enhance his enjoyment, why not. Of course then OP would also be okay with having a bathroom that is on view or else having a curtain drawn for privacy.

So OP if you can afford it and you think it will enhance your life go for it.

Most people would find this to be detrimental but there is a lid for every pot. In my building someone remodeled and created a glass "window" from the living room into the bedroom. Not something I would do but the unit sold at a very high price per square foot so all it needed was one buyer who loved that feature.

I've seen a few youtube videos where the shower was beneath a skylight. That seemed like a nice way to bring the outside in. And skylights are just so wonderful!

Think beyond the nekkidness too, about the view from the Master or balcony into the shower and past it to a vanity. For most people, there are bottles, toiletries, loufas, whatever in the shower and on the vanity for their rushed daily lives. If you don't live picture-ready make sure the bathroom layout and/or window size considers that.

^^ are the reasons why I would suggest shutters or draperies to close off the bathroom when so desired.
