light fixture dilemma
Comments (6)Ill take a shot in the dark that you havent moved to this yet (old post) I would not hang three fixtures back in the kitchen. i would put a reccessed can with adjustable eye ball to point down, over both the sink and the bar, and only hang something from the eating areas . its too busy. also nothing about your kitchen says "darkwood" or rustic....it all says light beach cottage so im leaning toward lighter woods with little dark metal. in the kitchen you need the down lighting more so, i would think. https://www.elkgroupinternational.com/hand-formed-glass-5-light-chandelier-in-oiled-bronze-with-mercury-glass-10436-5ch https://www.overstock.com/Lighting-Ceiling-Fans/Uttermost-Civenna-3-light-Metal-Wood-Rope-Pendant/9091508/product.html...See MoreUndersized Foyer light dilemma please help me choose a fixture!
Comments (33)I think I have found a solution. I can’t find anything in the chandeliers or wall sconce lines that I really like or would mesh the two. I’m going to buy this fixture that is very discounted and switch out the shades with something like this and possibly dangle a few crystals from it. Then is will marry the glass sconces and the silver chandelier. It is appropriately sized and looks more like a foyer fixture imo. I also have a Casablanca ceiling fan in the middle of this room and plan to use the same type of crystal shades on its light bulbs....See MorePlease help with kitchen lighting dilemma. concrete beam.
Comments (10)power From the sink side would require going over the beam (already lowers ceiling over a foot? Thinking of skipping tracks. area that I am trying to light (this is the "work area of a kitchen, will also have under cabinet lighting, and opens up to a 12' x 10' area, which is separated by a beam) 12' x 9' It seems like a flush mounted led fixture without opaque sides may work beat and would allow more light (through the bottom and sides). Like this https://www.lightology.com/index.php?module=prod_detail&prod_id=804626&cat_id=9 That being said, oval or horizontal may be better but I see few online. maybe two round or square led lights Any additional ceiling lights on the other side of the large beam would require fir out the ceiling, which I want to avoid, so on the other side i plan to keep the ceiling fixture that is centered there (which has 5 75 watt incandescent bulbs) and add a wall sconce above the pantry on the right facing wall. Ceilings are max 9' tall....See MoreStairwell light fixture dilemma
Comments (2)Thank you. There was an LED bulb in there that now needs to be replaced. I’ve decided to replace the whole fixture so that I can use the bulb replacement pole in the future....See MoreBrandy
