How far along are y'all in the building process? That may influence the responses. :-) Oh, and which direction does the house face?

My first thoughts, really quick, were that there seem to be opportunities for windows on both the right and left sides of the house. Overall, the windows seem a bit wonky... There's too much variation in size, shape, strange placement, etc. But if y'all have already ordered windows, I'm obviously no help, lol.

Edited to add: There's plenty more thoughts, but without knowing how far along you are, it's difficult to make recommendations. :-D

So far, basement walls were poured and the plumbing was placed. I am hoping they pour the basement slab this week.

The house is facing is North and as far as windows we prefer them not on the left and right sided of the home because we don’t like a lot of sun shining into the bedrooms and this keeps the house cooler.

From what I can see of that site, Miss Zahra, that is such a pretty piece of land y'all have. <3

Okay, so since ground has been broken already, I'd avoid making any changes, especially during this post-covid climate of craziness. Even the best well-planned builds are experiencing delays, and the last thing I'd want to do is suggest something that will cause agony, emotional or financial, lol.

Overall, it's a cute house; wrap around porches are awesome. <3 If anything, I'd skip the shutters (they're a bit too tiny for the windows, proportionately), and repurpose them (interior decor or something).

Do y'all have any landscaping ideas yet? (Sorry, I love thinking about gardens, lol.)

In the kitchen, consider moving the sink off the island to the perimeter. It lets you use the whole island more, for prep with others, hanging out, buffet, etc. without the sink, dirty dishes, etc, in the way,

Upstairs, the top left bedroom just at the top of the stairs? Can you push the doorway in a bit, so that it isn’t RIGHT at the top of the stairs?

Ooooh dang, that's nice. <3 I'm in eastern Central Texas, and I'd kill for a heavily wooded neighborhood like yours.

If I could -- without sounding uppity lol -- please, please, please don't plant a tree right in front of the door! :-D I see this all. the. time. Smaller/medium-szied accent trees (preferably flowering, but stay away from Bradford Pear, lol) to frame the house would look lovely, especially with all the tall trees in the back. I also love the look of a front door painted in a cheerful color pulled from flowering perennials in the yard. <3

The house's orientation will make this perfect! Southern exposure is great for spending time outside on a backyard deck or in a pool.

I don’t have a problem with the sink in the island especially with there being no windows in the kitchen. I will feel real closed in with it being in the perimeter. I’ll just make sure the dishes are clean and I have lots of counter space for prep on the perimeter.

I thought about the the same thing with the doorway being right there at the edge of the stairs. I will ask the builder today about it.

I hate big trees so don’t worry lol I hate having to rake up all those leaves. I do love flowering trees and I have 2 white rose trees I will be planting as well. Do you think they will look nice on the sides of the stairs?

I think roses look good everywhere, lol. I have white and purple roses, and I hope to acquire some white-and-purple bicolor roses this fall. Confederate Jasmine 'Madison' is a great compliment to roses, if you have any room/desire for a nice, non-toxic evergreen vine! :-)

You may not be able to visualize it now, but the Master Sitting Room is extremely large and out of proportion. Your Bedroom is 17'-6"x15'-0" and has room for a sitting area in the bay bumpout. Capturing the 2nd story Great Room space has given you another additional 17'-6"x15'-0" room, which will be very hard to furnish as a sitting room. It may be better to halve it and give one half a sitting+hall linen closet, and the other half provide an open loft space next to the stairs, or allow the entire room to be an exercise, or craft room, etc. This could be an easy change at this stage of construction that doesn't ruffle the builder or permitting feathers.

The bump out was a very small area and was not big enough for what we wanted it for. We are actually going to put our bedroom in the sitting room area and place barn doors to close it off and use that area as my upstairs living room getaway area.
