Lower quality thumbs displayed? Since I can't easily fix that, I'll guess I'll just click them to view larger. I wish they'd extend the active zone for closing the popup to the entire page though. I'm lazy. :)

Clicking the timestamp no longer takes a person into the discussion and to the bottom. I suppose once in the thread click "Comment".

Myself, I don't mind applying a line of javascript (using an extension) to get it to do what I want so at least for now, that's what I'm doing.

That's how I noticed that even with my url saying Gardenweb, it's obviously Houzz. I always click on the latest date/post in a thread and it takes me to the bottom to that post. Not any more. I have to click on the heading, and then hit the End button, and then scroll up to the latest comment.

And the pictures. We can't save them anymore as it's Houzz again.

This still works if using Firefox, just enable copy while on gardenweb and it will remember.

Oh, so that is what is going on. I wondered why I could not copy pictures anymore. Sometimes I like to copy the laugh of the day to share with my grandkids.

The 'featured answer' is SO annoying. I don't think anyone ever chooses one, so the post with the most 'likes' takes a position under the OP, completely out of context because it often references other posts that the reader has not yet gotten to to read.

I hate having to click on photos to enlarge them, too. I cannot get Richard's fix for copying photos to work on my macbook. I installed it on Firefox, but I still cannot right click to copy photos. I just do a screenshot and save them to my desktop.

Once you install it you need to have gardenweb.com open before you go into the extension and click "Enable Copy".

If you get it right you'll see a green arrow beside "Enable Copy".

I never save photos from gardenweb and certainly not from houzz, and so this is not an issue for me, but I did prefer how the photos showed up on gardenweb. Now it is necessary to enlarge them, which is okay but yet another annoyance. Eventually, there will be enough annoyances that it won't be worth visiting here, since there are plenty of other forums without such annoyances.

I won't abandon this site, but I definitely will visit less with the changes they have made. It's obvious that this is the least of their concern.

I'm on Gardenweb URL right now and I'm not seeing the "featured answer" and I'm able to right click and save a picture.

When I checked just now, the pictures on the daily smile thread are much larger than they were earlier today. I'm thankful for this, because the thread is one of the highlights of my day!

I'm on Gardenweb.com too and there's no 'Featured'. I thought that the person who originated the post selects the featured answer. I never have, tho - and only see it when I'm on houzz.com. Are you positive you're on Gardenweb?

For me it's in the area with the icons for all my other extensions. I don't think I've did anything to make it show up when I installed it; it just appeared up there.

It looks like things are back to normal(?) now anyway. Gardenweb pages are being displayed on the Gardenweb URL again. I guess it just took a nap to fix it. :-)

I cannot see those icons. I went to customize toolbar and I see the arrow for the extension I want to show but when I try to move it into the toolbar it disappears. I can't figure out how to make those icons appear. Under view, the only option is bookmarks toolbar.

I'm not seeing "featured answer" on gardenweb today, but I did yesterday. Maybe it was a one day glitch. Anyway, I am glad that it is gone. Also, the picture icons today are much larger than they were yesterday, and I like that also.

As I said before, I do not save photos from Houzz, but there is one exception, and that is when I am trying to help someone with design. I have on occasion saved a photo and adjusted colors or changed design elements for them.

I loathe Chrome too but for a reason that wouldn't matter to anyone else. (unable to customize position of tabs)

Nothing wrong with multiple browsers and Chrome is very popular.

Personally, if I was faced with using a browser I didn't like, rather than go through that change, I'd probably consider a "Refresh" first.

"Help" -> "More Troubleshooting Information". (about:support) (try about:about sometime to see a list of available "about"'s) (about:profiles offers an easy way to create a new profile)

I see they now have an option to clear "Startup Cache". (not browser cache) I've never tried that, maybe that would help you?

I haven't had problems with Firefox in a long long time, so I'm pretty dedicated to it. But that's just me.

ETA, I just tried clearing startup cache to see if it messed anything up. I don't see anything different but then again, nothing was broken for it to fix.

"Featured Answer" is now back on Gardenweb. Why can't they leave well enough alone? I hope this is temporary, and it is very annoying and completely unnecessary.

Tiny photos are also back. A pain on the daily "funnies" thread.

The featured answer confuses me so much that I scroll by very quickly. So far have not had small pictures. Not looking forward to when it's my turn.

I dislike that there is no like on the op original post. That is my beef for today.

"Featured Answer" sometimes shows up and sometimes does not, and I see no logic to explain it.

My beef today is that it is now impossible to do a search within just one forum - if you do a search, it is performed for the entirety of all Houzz forums, which makes the search function almost useless. This is one of the worst of the new downgrades that we are experiencing.

And therefore NOT impossible!! It just takes the right device, browser, platform and method :-)

What I'm seeing is this:

On a forum index page such as https://www.gardenweb.com/discussions I get the option to search within whatever forum I'm in: (Oops, I see I don't, just "Gardenweb")

But once I've entered a discussion, that option is no longer presented:

For what it's worth, I'm using Firefox on a Linux PC but it works the same on my Windows PC.

ETA, Just tried Edge (based on Chromium). Same results.
