what color trim color goes with white dove kitchen cabinets
Comments (10)Our cabinets are BM Gardenia, a very warm white. We matched the trim to the cabs, including the baseboards. For the ceiling, we went with BM ceiling white, whatever that is. For us it worked out well. The business of "layering whites" has worked out well for many posters on this site. Personally, I think, that except for the ceiling, as long as there is some separation between the whites, you can have almost as many shades as you like. Like you, we also went with a grey-ish color for the walls. Ours is a 50/50 mix of BM Metallic Silver and Pidgeon Grey. If you're looking for a light grey, look at BM Metallic Silver. It was too light for us, but it may work for you. Also, keep in mind that paint is the easiest and least expensive thing to change. Comments (18)Going to second the comment about the columns. The color is overwhelming and they, with the island, is dwarfing everything else. I suggest painting the the white of the rest of your trim, in the same semi-gloss. For the walls you need a color that works with both, the cabinets and the island. B.M. recommends Stone Harbor for Classic Gray. Stone Harbor will also go with the dark island....See MoreWhat paint color go well with BM Collingwood?
Comments (3)Look at MB Historical Colors from HC-142 through HC-156. There are varying mixes of blues and greens and different amounts of lightness/darkness in that range. Collingwood is a pretty adaptable color. As with any paint color, sampling is important. Since you didn't post any pictures I don't have any context to be able to be more specific with a suggestion. Accent walls are very controversial on this forum. Some people hate them. I think they can be okay in certain places, but they don't belong everywhere. If you're not sure about where you're going to have yours, post a picture of the room - a couple pictures so everyone can get a good idea of the whole space. If you're positive that's what you want to do, carry on! :-)...See MoreBM white wall & trim color in kitchen with maple cabinets
Comments (10)You definitely need a warm white with those cabinets. I don't think Decorator's White is going to work in this space. Here is BM's guide to their whites: https://www.benjaminmoore.com/en-us/color-overview/color-palettes/color-families/white-paint-colors Bring home chips of all the warm colors they mention in the article, and try to narrow down your options to a handful, then get larger samples from Samplize.com to narrow down the options further. Since you're going to be doing a large area, move on to painting a large area as a further sample before committing. You can also paint a board that you can move around the space so you can see the color on different walls. Colors look different depending on how much light they get. Look at the color next to your new floors and whatever furniture you have that you're going to keep and use in the space....See MoreRelated Professionals
