Electric lawnmower recommendations?
Comments (2)fori, I purchased the WORX ECO WG780 19-Inch 24-Volt Cordless Electric Lawn Mower from Amazon about a year ago, and I really like it. It is surprisingly powerful and a single charge of the battery can mow a lot of lawn. The design is very smart, and it changes easily between side discharge, mulching, and bagging. The bag is surprisingly handy. It is not self propelled, but it pushes easily on level ground. Its rather heavy marine-grade sealed lead acid battery is removable for safe storage indoors during the Winter. For more info, read the user reviews on Amazon. I hear that a self-propelled version is "in the works". ZM (not associated with any product or vendor mentioned or linked)...See MoreFor lovers of the big, bizarre and stinky. (Non-orchid)
Comments (12)Oh how I love phallus-shaped flowers. :D Seriously though, that's an awesome plant. Googled the foliage and it looks prety nice too! Do you need to dig the tuber out of the ground in order for it to bloom?...See MorePepper from groceries
Comments (14)@mecdave. I have three major chains with "superstore" sizing, Stop&Shop - Shaws - Market Basket, and two smaller name brand chains, Trader Joe's - Whole Foods, within a 15 minute drive of my home and I never see anything but Jals & Serranos on a regular basis with Habs, Hungarian Hot & Thais in season. They do have an assortment of mildly hot in season also. @cottonwood. Yea I saw a few left over hot peppers at HD last weekend and stole a ripe Hungarian Hot Wax, nice sting that kept growing & growing. Might try a few next year for pickling. NECM...See MoreOnions?
Comments (1)I've got a couple of onions in my indoor bin right now. I cut them up to decompose faster. They don't go away as fast as an apple or something, but there is no odor at all. They will eat it as it decomposes. Throw it in! Just as an aside, we got a potato plant from the bin that came from kitchen scraps over the winter. Mrs. Joe rescued the sprout from the bin and planted it in a big pot. Its totally happy! (She's Irish, and has an empathy with potatoes.)...See MoreL Clark (zone 4 WY)
