White recessed lighting on a cream ceiling?
Comments (13)There are many, many sizes and finishes for recessed lighting fixtures. Reno's suggestion is a good one, ie, use fixtures with smaller trim. If you search Lightolier, Prescolite or other major manufacturers you will get a sense of what's available. Ask your builder what brand he is using and check their web site for options. As long as the ceiling finish and the light fixture trim finish are similar (and not contrasting with one another as described by another poster), they will be visually compatible. For maximum coordination, the interior of the can should also be similar (but this may affect the lighting intensity of the fixture). Good luck with your project....See MoreYour opinion on my kitchen light fixtures, please...
Comments (4)I think the first looks better, the style and lines seem to match well. But either would probably be fine - I don't think either would jump out at you as looking terrible together....See MoreOpinions on this LIght Fixture
Comments (11)sorry i don't have pics. i'll try to describe a little better. The floor is an ink blue tile. i've painted the walls a very very light yellow and they are partially tiled in white. like i said, the cabinents are white and i've hung a framed white mirror. the hardware on the cabinent is satin nickel with glass knobs. thanks for your opinioin kathy. this is not for over the sink though. it hangs in the middle of the outer room, which is why i'm approaching it as maybe not a huge deal as far as a light source since i will have something like you posted above the sink--in satin nickel i would guess....See Moreis hubby right or wrong about this island light fixture?
Comments (26)When I fall so in love with something that I want to keep it even if it's not the ideal choice for the space that trumps everything else. Your chandelier is so beautiful it could go either way...depending on how much you actually like it. And it doesn't sound like you're totally sold on it. So maybe there is a better one out there for you. I think those amber teardrops are wonderful. They add a delicate touch to it and bring some of the browns from the granite over to the island. But what I can't tell from your photo is what color this chandelier actually is. When it's lit it turns a lovely antique copper color and when it's not lit it appears black. I would like to see what a chandelier looks like if it were lighter in color, more coppery-brown than black, to help tie in the warm tones of the granite on the opposite cream cabinets to this island. There appears to be a lot of black on black with the island, chandelier, and granite all one color. I'm totally envious of your kitchen BTW!...See Morekhrisz
