Oh No! What Have I Done Wrong?
Comments (4)Ariel, That is definitely Spider mite damage to the leaves. Nothing you have done wrong. Treat it now and then again in 5-7 days. I have been using Brian's mix which is 1Litre of water 1Tbsp liquid dish soap 1Tbsp olive oil mix this in a spray bottle and shake vigorously while using to keep all dispersed in water. Do this in the evening (No sun on it while it is on) and spray off with plain water in the morning or even a few hours later. Spray top and undersides of leaves and even the caudex. They are hard to see and the spray is a contact solution. Some use just water and dish soap, but I like Brian's because the oil will smother the mites and they cannot get it off. Works well with aphids also. Rick...See MoreOH NO! I bought 'heaters' thinking they were ovens
Comments (15)Thanks everyone for your responses. Some make me feel better, others make me feel worse. HA! I'm clueless, but hubby said the power is 220 volts coming into house...I think. My cabinets were custom ordered through Decora so ovens are enclosed in these cabs. Bottom oven seems to vent around the top, and the Advantium does a little venting at the top, but the big blast is at the bottom. My ovens back up to an outside wall and my cabs are extra deep so that we could somewhat accomodate a monster fridge. Fridge is right next to these ovens. larrylwill, are you saying we could pull the ovens out and cut a hole in the back of the cabinet to have more venting? Again, I'm clueless here. I know we have the space because the refrigerator is deeper then the ovens. Or, maybe if it's too hot, I should just stay out of the kitchen...and look forward to winter. Thanks for this and any other help....See MoreBought another Cyclamen - oh I cannot resist these.
Comments (4)Beautiful red color!! I purchased last month a mini white one that smells like lemons and it seems to be doing great in my cold house. I'm keep it in my bathroom on the windowsill. I got it in a very small amount of soil in the bottom and the rest is gritty mix. My townhouse is naturally dry/cold so for my other Tropicals I've dedicated a room w/artificial lights. It's an every year thing. But I got this plant from homestead gardens for $2.99-I checked for bugs and it's healthy...See MoreOh cr*p I forgot to turn off the hose...
Comments (9)I bought those small timers on every hose bib. I have to dial in my allotted time and then it automatically turns off. They are pretty cheap. I had a computerized one that turned on my bird guzzlers automatically and turned them off but they were too much out of site, out of mind. I would like to get my vegetable garden automated more. I am thinking of installing a closed capsule system there....See Morecearbhaill (zone 6b Eastern Kentucky)
