Thanks Melissa. After watching some videos I realized you can put the Schluter so the thin part is on the outside and the thick part is on the inside which might help me achieve the original look I wanted.

I hate niches but if you must then use the schluter and I have no idea what you are talking about with the thin versus the thick This needs to go in before the tile and looks very clean and not really noticable at all when done right .

Patricia what I mean is that if you install the anchoring leg on the outside of the niche rather than the inside of the niche then most of the profile is inside and less visible. See pics attached for reference. In the first photo the anchoring leg is inside snd the profile is an extra 3/8” that’s visible. The second photo shows how I want them to install the anchoring leg on the outside so the 3/8” profile is in the ledge. I know some people prefer the Schluter as a decorative addition but I don’t

You'll either need Schluter edges or liner tile to finish not just the niche edges, but also the shower wall edges. We used Schluter for this tile niche:

Sabrina thank for the photo. We did get it for the edges of the shower bc I prefer that to the bullnose

Request the Schluter Jolly to be used; it's so thin that all you see on the face is about 1/8".
