OT...surgery update
Comments (8)Karen, wishing you a speedy recovery!! You naughty girl!! You should have shared this with us and let us send you our T & P's in addition to sending you our support. PM, T & P's coming your way as well!! I'm seconding OA's idea for a booboo free May!! Mainly because last Sunday my 4 yr old DGS and I had a bad fall when the tension broke on the zip line at my brothers place and we hit the ground pretty hard. Nothing broken, but he was on my lap and his head hit my jaw, knocking my jaw slightly out of alignment. My dentist said it will probably move back when the swelling goes down, but in the meantime, taking ibuprofen for pain in my neck and jaw. Actually, my jaw is already better today, thank goodness!! I think my zip line days are over! Cody is fine, although he had a "head hurt" for a while. So.....definitely rooting for a merry month of May!! Take care everybody! Comments (10)Thank you for your prayers and good thoughts. I have read them throughout the day. You all have kept me company. We left for the hospital at 10:00 am and just got home at about 10:30 pm. No more procedures tonight, the pressure was a good "15" and she was able to see 2 fingers on the doctor's hand tonight. I have her home at my apartment tonight - all patched up. It's difficult for her being virtually blind and not being able to walk well anyway with her NPH. But she is in bed in the room next door and I'm hearing a comforting snoring! We go for post-op tomorrow with the doctor. He'll check the pressure again I'm sure and we'll see what our next steps are. I have the paperwork for FMLA leave from work that I'll have him sign. He has never written an Rx for home health care so I don't know if that'll fly. Talked to my brother tonight about FMLA leave and he thinks if I take 2-4 weeks off from work that Mom's savings could "reimburse" me my net pay. I was shocked that he offered but had actually thought of this option myself. Well, I'm off for some sleep. Gotta keep one ear open for her. Thank you again for everything. Comments (11)LOL Moonie! I had to read your post a second time to catch your mistake. Sjerin-The stents are permanent. We don't know when he will be going home. They moved him to a private room today and will start PT tomorrow.DDIL told them we weren't bringing him home this time until he was able to walk around and do things for himself! That was what started all this in the first place. He was suppose to be getting up and walking several times a day but was staying in bed or sitting in his recliner all the time.I think he has learned his lesson.I think he realizes how close he came to being dead.If he hadn't had that filter he would be dead! As for me and DH,we are about ready to disappear for a while! Two babies in the "terrible two's" stage on top of everything else is about to get the best of us old people!LOL Hopefully everything will smooth out in a few weeks though and things will get back to normal, whatever that is! I'm seriously contemplating a few days of daycare for the two little monsters so I can get some rest.LOL Not really. They are actually pretty good most of the time but they do have their moments and can be a handful. We will make it though!...See More- 5 years ago
