Thanks, @BeverlyFLADeziner. Do you have experience with any of those? I looked at some of them, which but hesitated because of aesthetics (I really love the built-in soap dish and the industrial hose might look out of place in my super retro kitchen?) and because all of the ones I found in this style are made by companies that produce lower-cost faucets using less durable materials and with fairly poor warranty/support. For some reason they also mostly have handles that rotate vertically (like the second two), which I find harder to control. The only one I found with the horizontal levers that are preferable for accessibility and control is the one you showed first above, but it's made by Tosca, which has only a so-so reputation for quality. The versions of these from more reliable brands are truly commercial/industrial faucets and just wouldn't go, I don't think.

For options (a) and (b) you would plan to drill a hole in the drainboard portion of the sink to mount the sprayer?

@wdccruise, for an independent side spray, it would be mounted on the countertop next to the sink. Even if you could drill through the cast iron, I wouldn't want to put any new holes in a century-old sink!

For the first one that BeverlyFLADeziner showed, try looking for T&Sbrand commercial kitchen faucets. They have several options for wall-mounts.

I figured that, but that sink is a freestanding sink, not one that I would think would be installed in or adjacent to a countertop. How about something like this Whitehaus Quatro Alcove 36" (specs) which could give you that retro look, be installed in a countertop, and allow you to select whatever faucet and sprayer you wanted?

Kohler offers the Farmstead sinks but at $2600, they're incredibly expensive.

@wdccruise Thanks. I already own the sink, so that is a done deal. I really love the old colorful plumbing fixtures! It is freestanding, although we're going to build it into the cabinetry, along these lines:

LOVE the yellow, hex, sink, etc. Big fan, everything in my former 1920's kitchen coordinated with the yellow handles of my 1949 OKM stove. :)

Alas I have no useful input on recent sprayer developments, but having had one of these same vintage cast-iron farm sinks in a kitchen years ago, one additional thing I'd warmly recommend is getting an articulated spout on the faucet for greatest flexibility. I adore the utility of wristblade handles, so my favorite is the commercial Elkay, but I'm sure the fashionable brands are making something similar:

The side of the sink is really wide making a countertop spray impractical, in my opinion.

@Circus Peanut That sounds dreamy! And thanks for the suggestion of the articulated spout. Chicago Faucets makes a very similar one with with the horizontal levers I prefer (option c above), so definitely something to consider.

@wdccruise That's a good point. I was reconciled to a side spray being awkward, but am starting to think it may not be worth it.

Watermark seems to have a new faucet with both soap dish and sprayer. The design is a bit fussier than I would like ideally, but the best technical solution so far.

No sprayer, but this American Standard 7295.252.002 has the old-timey look you seek. $278 at build.com. Maybe you could just attach one of those swivel sprayer thingys to it.

@wdccruise That American Standard is pretty! Unfortunately, their quality doesn't seem to be what it once was, but Chicago Faucets makes a very nice similar one that can be ordered with a swivel spray head.

How does that Watermark sprayer work? I'm just trying to suss it out, hmmm. But that's the closest I've seen to what you're going for, outside of some ridonkulously expensive Rube Goldberg gantry number by Waterstone.

@Circus Peanut Not sure! It looks like one of the old hose-style ones, so maybe the nozzle twists? It is definitely the closest to what I was looking for, style-wise, but now I think they're pulling a fast one with the company name. This is not a NYC-based Watermark Designs faucet (the price should have been a tip off!), but from the Watermark Fixtures in Louisiana which seems to be far less reliable a company. This faucet isn't cheap, but it's reasonable enough that I could try it and then replace with a Chicago Faucets one for less than the Waterstone Rube Goldberg contraption if I don't like it!

Exactly! If you wind up getting and installing it, definitely drop a line about it here. I'm looking at doing my own kitchen next year and it will probably include a wall-mounted faucet over our vintage prep sink, so would love to hear a review. (For me the only drawback would be its lack of wristblades, which I adore as a solution to mid-prep chickeny fingers.)
