Need a light and table for entryway

Please help. This entryway needs a light and table. Was thinking overstock since they have good prices..

if I could get some ideas. Thanks!!

Shop and post pix of what you find that you like. We can help you decide, but it is important to let us see the style of your surrounding rooms. The entryway should introduce you, your style and set the expectation for what will be found in adjacent rooms. FYI, I'm not a fan of big box store battery operated clocks. Once you find the right size table (maybe nearly as long as the opening across the hall) then we'll shop for art.

I know this is an old thread, but couldn't help replying when I checked the link gmliberi posted, because I just bought that same table at Target last week! I love it. The reason that I found this thread is that I was searching for a second, similar table. My local Target only had the one or I'd have bought two of that same one. One for my entry way and one for my bedroom!

You have a great style! I really like how you’ve decorated. I love that magnificent umbrella stand and would absolutely keep it in the entry if you like it there. It’d be a great, eclectic look, very unique, bold — gives a wonderful first impression of your beautiful home. Best of all, it has sentimental value to you. Plus, umbrella stands are perfect in an entry way. Form and function. ;) I wouldn’t go too simple. Your umbrella stand would eat a little console for a midnight snack, while y’all sleep. :D And any small console will look overwhelmed and boring in that entry. Keep it fabulous, glam, elegant like your other rooms. I’d try it with the console closest to the front door and umbrella stand beyond that. You’ll see when you get a table in there what feels right, you’re clearly a talented decorator. And a lamp shining in there would look so lovely and cozy from inside and out. Lovely curves .... This is an interesting look — a mix of very traditional (your stand) with a more modern lined piece .... A gorgeous vintage Hollywood Regency console (on the Chairish site) .... Need help with faux floral arrangement for entry way table

Problem solved ! Since a lot of you sent pics With tall white flowers shallow flat vase , I went to a few stores today and imagine my surprise when I found this arrangement at a furniture consignment store!! Thank you everyone for all your help I love how we can get advice from each other

When redoing a space the best thing is to have an overall concept for how you want it to feel vs first choosing items.

First thing I would do is remove the coats at entrance as they are cumbersome as you enter. Idea below is flush to wall/attractive when you enter. Both of these items will be easy to find.

Where the clock is, I’d add something like below. More useful and attractive.

I’d add a runner - close up in second picture.

Finally, I think the lighting you chose seems a bit large and one below is similar but more compact and has a more versatile style. Aim for something that can be adjusted to the right height for your ceiling, or a semi-flush.

Like this light but can’t tell what size ? The one up is about 13by 13. Would the bigger one be too big?

Your choices are very nice! I am also looking for a new entry light. How high are your ceilings? I am limited by an 8’ ceiling so I’m looking at semi-flush mounts that are no more than 12” in overall height., which will leave 84” from the bottom of the fixture to the floor.

Would you do smaller one?? My ceiling was a 7ft 8in

Hi, If your floor to ceiling is only 7’8” then I would do a smaller one, at least in height. I like to leave 7’ from the bottom of the fixture to the floor. You might be able to stretch it a bit, just be sure to clear the door in the entry! If your current light is 13” from the ceiling to the bottom of the fixture, then the smaller beaded one in your photo from amazon could work since it’s only 1/2” more in overall height. It’s beautiful!
