This beauty here only bloom once a blue moon for me but when she does she sure is a show-off. What I love most about this rose is its intense color. She also has good fragrance and very good health too. But if you live in a hot climate like me, she might be very stingy on blooms.

She's stingy in blooms for me even in cold-climate (I'm in zone 5a). I have to force her to bloom with low-nitrogen & high potassium fertilizer. My LOS (lady of shallott) is 7-year-own-root.

strawchicago, whoa thanks for the info, the reason i said that because I noticed that the people that i know live in GA, right above me, grow these and they bloom so nicely (same with Summer Romance), and they are not even experts, they just copied my roses, but for some reason they just bloom way better than mine with some varieties

By all means, do plant them in your garden now. Make sure you water them in well. Since it is so warm there, I'd provide them with some afternoon shade for about a week. Place a lawn chair over them or buy some shade cloth and rig up some stakes to attach it to. Since it is so warm, keep an eye on the roses so they don't dry out during the next week or two--but don't drown them either. That can kill them as easily as too little water can. So extra specially nice. Mine was great her first year, but has started to disappoint in the last couple years. Yours looks more like my Wollerton Old Hall, which I LOVE. In fact, I got Wollerton just in case I decide to SP Desdemona. You've motivated me to give her some extra attention this year. She is a heavy drinker, so probably needs more nutrients, too.

This is 2 days after the other Boscobel video. I take back what I said about how the blooms fried in the sun. It was my fault. I didn't water it that morning. Watered the next morning and the blooms stayed pretty the whole hot sunny day. As you can see, it's 91F most of the day and the rose is still looking pretty, though the blooms are more pink than apricot like they were 2 days ago.

Hoang Ton, Simply Gorgeous! I love how the blooms have retained good color, not to mention the many petaled overstuffed look which I love. Man pink Austins fade terribly in our dry heat. EV looks like she can take what summer dishes out. I am impressed with this rose. Please continue to post updates on how she performs this summer. Diane

I know exactly what you are talking about HT! My neighbor suddenly decided he wanted to grow roses and he's do beautifully with 0 black spot. Of course they're in full sun position all day long so I think that accounts for a lot of it. He even grows Chrysler imperial blackspot free no spray. He's currently growing 7 lady of shallot having added 3 more this spring. They were constantly in bloom last year along with Rouald Dahl.

Yeah, it's quite humbling and dare I say embarrassing to see someone not caring too much about roses grow them better. :)
