It looks like there’s stone, brick, and siding?
If that’s correct I’d narrow that down. Maybe add some more brick or whitewash the brick and stone so they look more unified. Remove all shutters if your keeping these windows. Otherwise eventually when you do replace I’d go for longer smaller and more windows. And then you can possibly do shutters.
I’d also aim to extend the porch over to the right of the house. Remove that wrought iron post and do something thicker. Maybe a wood... new lighting, new hardscape, maybe eventually a new door too.
I’m obviously aware that I listed quite a few changes. Your house as is right now is cute, definitely not an eyesore at all! I would take this list and slowly do whatever you can to upgrade it.
Landscaping as you said too! ( I would keep it simple. Maybe just some boxwoods and season flowers and possibly planters on the porch. )

Agree with the overall suggestion to start small, first with power washing and then livening up the immediate area around the door with container plants and creating interest with some light toned shade loving plants under your big window. Consult with the nursery.

You have a structual-logical issue to deal with eventually: There is no walkway from the driveway to the front door. So study what you want to do about that. It will take hard scape, which is expensive and needs to be designed properly, so you’ll only want to do in once and get it right the first time

As already noted, you’re house is appealing as is, modest and cheerful. You’ll need to live with a bit to figure out what makes it happy and functional for you.

I agree that you should remove the shutters. All you really need is some foundation plantings. Take care to plant them to allow for enough space between a mature plant and the side of the house. Look for a variety of flower end evergreen shrubs.

Yes, remove all the shutters. None of the windows are the right style/size for them.

I would replace them with a nice, wide trim...similar to what you have on the bay window. The black garage door pulls a lot of focus. Consider painting it the same color as the siding. It's a nice house. You could still use black for the front door. It looks good with both your siding and roof color.
