Here’s an old photo of my dining room which is right next to the kitchen/ wall of shiplap. The color of the wall in my dining room will be painted lighter to match the rest of my home. I’ve also attached a photo of our master bedroom, so you can see the navy accents Ives used throughout.

IMO I would remove the cabinet on the left of the sink and add a cabinet that just goes to the corner What you have is not balanced and adding shelves will not make it better . Make sure before choosing anything else you have all bulbs LEDs 4000K What are planning on painting Hale Navy? Is that rug going in the kitchen? That IMO would be a bad idea. IMO you have enough navy running through so why not choose another color to work with the navy like a color from your fave piece of art for instance .

If the paint is for the shiplap I would say depends on the bar stools you are looking to put there.

If you leave it white then some great Navy and brass/gold barstools would look great.

If you go with the Hale Navy shiplap then the bright orange or a white barstool with brass/ gold would look great!

If you go with Half Navy I would do bar stools like these

Love all of the colors and details you have so far. Beautiful home.

You have a lot of different patterns going on here. The floor, backsplash, countertop, shiplap. I would keep the rest pretty simple.

Thanks for the bat still ideas! It’s hard to tell from my photo, and my dining room is now a makeshift kitchen, but there actually is not enough space for bar stools. We did not plan an over hang on the counters for that reason. I think I might just keep the shiplap white. I didn’t plan on using any shiplap, again it’s to cover up a fix that would have looked really bad. I’m toying with the idea of painting the dining room walls a navy color like BM’s Gentleman’s gray.

I can try another color on the dining room walls, but my living room, dining room and kitchen are all part of an open floor plan in my 1000sq ft condo. I wanted to keep it kind of cohesive. Here is better perspective. My dining room is behind where the fridge and stover are currently sitting.

I would hold off for now, decide on a color for the dining room walls and after they are painted decide if you want to add some of that color or another coordinating color in the kitchen.

Did you have a color already picked out for it, or looking for input on the dining room paint?

I think that BM Gentleman's Gray ( just looked it up - it's beautiful!!!) would work well color wise, but the room is small so I wonder if that would be too much. Were you thinking of painting the whole room or half walls?I know there's not much wall space and there is the window with shutters on one wall and then just a half wall so maybe it would work.

I love the colors you have in your space and the white also looks great carried throughout.

So your dining room has two walls to paint, right? The one with the large windows and shutters, and the other that wraps around to the right? Yes to painting those two a blue. I’d try matching the beautiful blue in your area rug in the living room! VERY nice home!

My suggestion is to paint all the walls in the open floor plan one color. I wouldn’t do any more navy but I do think a color which will work with the navy is necessary.

I am deciding between BM's Gentleman's Grey and Elephant Tusk. The gentleman's grey would be a very bold statement but tie into the navy accents throughout the living room. The Elephant tusk is the color that's already on the living room/ entryway and hallway walls. I wasn't quite sure how the creamy color (elephant tusk) would look up against my kitchen. I can send some photos tomorrow of my dining room and kitchen together, now that we're mostly moved back in to our new kitchen.

Better lighting in this photo

I would look at a light greige. Your space looks nice with warm tones, but I feel light lighter would be better. Edgecomb Gray, Accessible Beige, Agreeable Gray, Pale Oak, Worldly Gray.

I tried a greige color on my walls, and although it flows nicely off of the kitchen, it clashed badly with the other predominant paint color in my home. Here are photos with BM's Balboa Mist (Greige color) and then the color I repainted with, BM's Luzerne, which is a bold choice, but I absolutely love and makes me happy every time I look at it! Excuse the mess, still have painting projects going on!

I love the blue and it works great with the blue colors in the living room. Buy yourself a blue fruit bowl or tea kettle for the kitchen, a blue vase for on the kitchen shelf and a centerpiece, runner or placemats for the table that have some blue in a pattern and you will have the perfect space.
