Could you change the fabric to something more vibrant and use them as occasional chairs somewhere else? No table needed.

Can they be returned? If not, then maybe sell them, as you said. I think they look like nice chairs, but I wouldn’t keep a regret-purchase.

It’s hard to recommend a table without seeing the room, your other furnishings, etc. What styles do you like? What size table are you wanting?

I can return them to the resale shop but I would get half back. The house is being built, so I only have the floor plan. It is a huge open great room/ dining concept. I am thinking a large table, I have 12 ft ceilings. The floor plan has lots of western doors and the house has Mountain Views. The floor is white oak, the cabinets are coastal brown, counters are ijen blue quartzite, picking slab Monday.

Is there an easy program I can put the floor plan in to? Maybe if I can visualize the chairs with a table it would help. The chairs are black and the cabinets are brown, but all the window door frames are black, so it may be ok.

Given your description of your space, not having moved in yet and not being able to define what will suit, you have nothing to lose by keeping chairs (can always sell on Marketplace after you move in and will probably get more than 1/2 what you paid), is there any need to decide on them and a table right now? You may regret their purchase.

Your space will really dictate the best table; ie: may decide on using a lighter table, or a different style or shape, etc. With white oak floors, you also don’t want set to feel too heavy.

There are so many options for the chairs as well. With the money you would have lost by returning, put towards updating them. They can be stripped or painted, new upholstery added.

Good point. Looking at my floor plan would you ever shake things up and go round or would you stick to a rectangular table? I was thinking fantastic chandelier would also help.

If you had a separate dining room, decisions would be a lot easier. With your open concept, the kitchen and great room must be factored in. I’d hold off until at least kitchen was completed, but try to find a table (or set) that works with both. Hope the chairs suit as they are nice, even if you have to alter a bit. If considering a round table, how large does it have to be to fit the number of chairs and is there enough space.

Suggest looking at inspiration pictures so you can start to narrow down to what suits and what you are drawn to. A chandelier is always a great addition, but choose after table is selected.
