Dierama. The most commonly planted species is pulcherrimum. A great plant to grow. The dead leaves can be annoying to pull tho

ya know.... many if not most real gardeners.. would be thrilled if you knocked on the door.. and asked if they had a few moments to talk about their garden ... there are of course.. those who wont.. but all they can do.. is say no ... this struck me.. because one of these gardens seems to be in a lot of the pix ... and i bet the owner .. is very proud of their garden .. ken

when i was a kid ... 2000 years ago .. we had a plant mom called snow on the mountain .. googling that does not give me the plant i recall ...

it had soft silvery leaves... and flowered later in summer.. in MI ...

is there a silvery leaf phlox??

we might need a closer pic on that plant..

and maybe someone knows what moms plant was ...

Mom's plant was Cerastium tomentosum, commonly called Snow in Summer (Snow on the Mountain is a different plant).

The grey looking leaves put me off initially as well but then decided that might be just a photo thing. The flowers are a dead match for phlox.

LOL!! Looks like they are a dead match for cerastium as well! Bit early for that to be blooming but a week of hot weather may have accelerated that.

Thanks all!! Definitely is cerastium after seeing the pics. The leaves are somewhat grey/blue. That's what I like. Reminds me of a ground cover version of Australian flannel flower

Here in the PNW the snow in summer is a nuisance plant on bedrock outcroppings which it invades. The cross that 'Aztec Pearl' belongs to has been named x dewitteana. In later years independent retailers up here (WA) have been presenting at least several different cultivars with skinny leaflets. So if I were there in Portland working on the question I'd want to compare the example asked about on this thread with labeled material elsewhere before I settled on it being 'Aztec Pearl' specifically.

Next time ask the question! I didn't know if you wanted an id or were just showing some photos.

Just to confirm, second pic is 100% Cerastium tomentosum, not Phlox. GG, those specs really need attention. It’s honestly nothing like Phlox.
