New Home build frustration in AZ

We are building with a national home builder in the Phoenix area. We are inside 30 days to close. We have an iron front door and the threshold has not been adjusted completely leaving a large gap at the bottom of the door. The trim and stucco also has not been completely finished around the outside of the door. We opted for a paver front porch as well as the driveway and when they cut and installed the pavers by the front door we had a massive amount of concrete dust all over the house. The newly installed tile, base boards, window sills immediately in the area were covered in it. Further inspection indicated that the base boards in the bedrooms also had concrete dust as well as the granite counters and cabinets etc., which was likely filtered throughout our soon to be home by the HVAC ducts. Workers have been in the home and even though there was a strip of plastic over some areas of the carpet they have walked all over the carpets tracking the dust with them. We spoke with the sales office and they were very concerned and suggested we write an email to the construction super and include them to get this documented. We have asked that the carpets be replaced and the ducts professionally cleaned prior to closing. Concrete dust is very fine and we know it has settled into the carpet and is likely still being recycled throughout the home via the ducts. The email stating such was sent and the super called today and advised that they were very sorry etc.. but that she spoke to the area manager, apparently the super's boss was not willing to replace the carpets or have the ducts cleaned but was willing to have a specialized cleaning crew come and do a deep clean. I objected and said that was not satisfactory and asked who I needed to speak to above her. She said to let the cleaners do their job and she would advise her boss that we are not happy with just the deep cleaning and want the ducts cleaned and carpet replaced and get back to me. I also advised against any use of shampoo or other cleaners on the carpet as that would ruin the new carpet even further. I am sure they are not going to budge but wanted to know if I have options or if anyone has had any similar situations with a new home builder and how it was resolved. We are reasonable people and have built homes before and know how messy they can get throughout the building process but this was negligence on their part to proceed with the pavers prior to finishing the front door. I will be looking over the contract tonight and I assume there is an arbitration process etc..

Thanks in advance for any advice,

Jim
