Leela4 - The kidney selling tile is "hand chopped field" 2.0 cm polished Calcutta Tia from New Ravenna mosaics. It is custom configurable - I saw some 2 x 2" as well as the less than 1 inch I showed in the photo and we considered mini brick like boxerpups showed (1 x 2"). The hand chopping gives the uneven edges which is lovely and a nice foil when your kitchen is somewhat streamlined like mine. The color is beautiful. They may also offer a version that is not hand chopped which might be less expensive. Their website is cryptic and you may not even find any of it there (I did after much snooping but it was in a combined mosaic.) I have not heard of Calcutta Tia before - I think it maybe a New Ravenna thing but overall it is a calcutta marble with lots of variation - white, gray, browns, taupes - but more "color" and less white overall than other calcutta I have seen. We just moved in and are going to hold off a bit before picking the final back splash choice, but we are leaning toward white, light gray, taupe - stone or ceramic. It definitely helped to narrow down what I was looking for based on ideas & opinions from GWers so I could pick out other colors and finishes. I look forward to seeing photos of your kitchen - I had a hard time finding images of similar colors when we were designing.

Hi Linelle, I am so happy that you made a choice and I am glad you are happy with your Cloud White choice which is what I would choose. I never knew the pain could be so bad from losing my little Furson. I loved him so much and I was shocked to find I could not revive him. His seizures had been getting worse and the increase in the medicine was too much for him. I never should have left him alone in the kitchen without carrying him to the other room to put on his bed. I was not ready to lose him. I was only gone about 4 - 5 minutes and I had not left him alone in the past few weeks in any room but my gated home office where he was safer. I miss his little kisses and how bonded were were. He had not been able to play fetch for awhile. The other little dogs miss him so much. When another one of mine passes, I plan to adopt a little kitten or cat that likes little dogs. He was the oldest and was an only furchild for a few years. I had planned to write a post but the crying has been terrible and the guilt of leaving him alone when I knew he kept fainting. He just seemed more well that morning and instead of going to the puppy pad, he was waiting by the patio door for me to let him out to go do his "big boy potty" for a "big boy potty treat". I feel my life will never be the same without my little Skeeter.

Amy Sivley, we had our cabinets painted Snowbound with extra white on all the trim. They look like the same color. Its a very stark white. in certain lights the snowbound has a pink hue & the extra white has a blue hue. way to bright for me but I’m stuck with it we did Pure white on our ceilings & love it. I wish i would have picked something that doesnt blind me when I walk in the kitchen. all our trim throughout the house is bright white & Im trying to pick a white for the walls & having trouble.we did Cedar Key in a few rooms & that looks great but I want to try white.

BTW, we just moved into a new home with the same granite in our kitchen. The previous owners went with an antique white (manufacturer name) cabinet color similar to Benjamin Moore’s Linen White, which looks almost like a pastel yellow near the granite, and having tried several samples, we’ve found that a too clean of a white ( or worse, a conspicuously cool white) just looks a little off. This color of granite in person, seems to need something between - like a greyed white or near-white with just the slightest hint of warmth. At least I think we have the same granite, but ours has more of the off white base and gray chunks in it.
