Glass backsplash tile - no space between tile and granite counter
Comments (6)The wall is shared with the inside wall of the Garage. We did use the thinset recommended by the manufacturer (nice to know I did ONE thing right). I used 1/16" joints because we are also using strips of mosaic tile and I wanted all the joints to match. The manufacturer also recommended sanded grout, but now with my joints so small would it do any good to switch to unsanded? It is 5am and I am actually considering ripping all the tile off. Would that work? Would I be able to reuse the tile? Ugh, what a mess....See MoreKitchen backsplash tile for griege cabinets and Calcutta Arno quartz?
Comments (5)Hope this project ended well for you! I also have Calcutta Arno counters, white cabinets, and am in the same dilemma with the white backspash tiles. I like 3x12 subway and picket tiles but the ones I pick are too stark with the warm white counters. Would love to know what you decided on and how you like it....See MoreWhere to start and stop kitchen “back-splash” tile?
Comments (4)Thanks all. I ended up tiling around the window, but stopping underneath the top shelf and at the same level on the other side so that it was symmetrical and framed the window. I felt tiling above the cabinets would have been too much and I even changed the design from herringbone to this stacked soldier pattern last minute because I thought it might have been too busy with my Taj Mahal countertops, which should be the star. The tile is from Emil Group and is called Totallook Blanco Matte and Blanco Lux. Just google and I'm sure you can find a store near you. I chose to do 75% matte and 25% glossy for a bit of pop, but not too much. Way too many decisions every day!!!...See MoreDesperate plea for help sourcing backsplash tile
Comments (2)I believe those could be hand made. it's terra cotta w/a ceramic glaze. I like the other tile she used If you show us your kitchen and what the plans are, we could suggest some other options. these 8x8 tiles would look nice behind a range area w/more sedate tiles elsewhere. A lot depends on the size of the backsplash area, the other elements you're using, countertop, flooring, etc. any pics or mood boards of what you're doing? Are you doing a spanish style kitchen? here's the kitchen she did. it's not really a hacienda style per-se, it just has a few elements. This is actually one of my favorite spanish modern style kitchens. the reclaimed wood and accent tile make the space. how big is your kitchen? other spanish elements would be terra cotta, zellige, cement accent tiles and don't forget the colors. no boring white subway tile in these spaces! Jilly found you the link. they have a bunch of other batik tile designs https://www.marblesystems.com/antique-tile/ the black and white is cool...See Morekculbers
