I think it would be a mistake to not match the existing profile. I'd also have it project forward, not out the back. You also add a dormer over the addition to facilitate more usable space. JMHO

Thank you all for all the valuable input. To answer your questions: 1. I am planning to add a 3rd full bathroom solely because of need. I plan to use the house for a while (my kids are young). If I am understanding correctly, it would be prudent to add a 3rd bath in this case? The house is tight and I know I will get good use out of the 3rd bathroom. 2. To answer the question from @bry911, I am planning to reclaim about 250 sq.ft of covered (screened) patio space to allow for the addition of this 3rd bathroom. Ofcourse, not all 250sq.ft will be allocated to the bathroom. I presume that would mean extending the living square footage of the house? The patio is covered by the roof but does not have air conditioning. From the looks of it, it might be multiple projects of renovating the house. This includes the following: 1. Addition of the 3rd full bathroom. 2. Relocating the water heater from the laundry room into the garage. Wife wants a sink inside the laundry room. 3. Relocating the Air Conditioner Unit from next to the pantry (5ft x 2 ft) to the garage. Wife wants a bigger pantry. 4. Remodel the 2 existing bathrooms. 5. Add a standing shower outside by the pool. Kids running inside the house from the pool makes the house messy and wet. 6. The roof needs to be replaced. Since my house does not get too much daylight, I would like to add 1 or more skylights to make the house more airy and bright. Can anyone recommend any GC's and architects that they have personally worked with?

I go with the sunroom, too, and here's why. You can build a shed for cheap at some point, and until then you'll probably keep one car inthe driveway, and all the bikes and basketballs in the garage along with the yard and snow tools. The sunroom will make a great playroom while the little ones are little. I've seen that sunroom with nothing in it but a low-pile play rug and Lego. Or balls. Or plastic hockey sticks. Or those big Little Tykes (slide, trikes, trains) Or Hot Wheels. Or dollhouses. Or art projects (easy-to-clean tile floor). Usually just one or two of those. But a great playspace, near you but not, outdoors but not. After they are done with those types of toys, it can be dining space and added living space. You don't need the shed until Boy #1 gets a car. Oops, didn't mean to scare ya lol! Upstairs, I wonder if you can steal some space from the game room to make a reach-in closet for Bedroom 2, and use its walk-in closet to expand the bathroom. 5 boys will need more counterspace, more drawer storage, and (I can't believe I'm saying this, I'm usually a 1-sink gal) 2 sinks. Downstairs, consider eliminating the study closet and adding a shower to the powder room.

An elevated bed would be a huge amount of hassle to maintain, would not be able to accommodate anything large enough to act as a screen and would just look weird, imo, out in the middle of an essentially natural-looking woodsy yard. If you can live with some wire netting fences for a while you should be able to get a variety of shrubs and small trees established. There really is a huge range available, both evergreen and deciduous, and you have masses of space.
