It's a blank slate! You could paint almost anything. Go to a paint store and start looking at chips. If it's neutral you want, try greige. Sherwin William's Accessible Beige or Agreeable Gray are both lovely. If you want something lighter, try Neutral Ground or Modern Gray. Look at the various color pallets the paint stores have put together online. Or better yet- find a really great art piece you'd like to hang in there or some luxurious towels you love that aren't white and let those objects guide you in choosing your wall color. have you thought about wallpaper? There are some beautiful ones out there these days!

It seems blah because everything is same color and matchy matchy. You can inject personality but keep it neutral simply by punctuating with Black accents, bold patterns, some wood elements and plants. Here are some inspiration photos. Pattern can be introduced as wallpaper or shower curtain. Wood can be shelves or baskets or a wooden rug. Black accents can be introduced through the vanity hardware and/or countertop accessories as well as a towel ring/towels

I'd be careful with making the space too gray and would lean more to a greige/light taupe for the walls. That will keep it feeling warmer, IMO. Art above the toilet. Countertops as empty as you can keep them! Lil Design Works has shared some great and easy ideas.

What’s the style of the rest of your house? Simply bring some of those elements in here. Personally I like a white bathroom with a pop of color. Black/white is ok if it goes with the design of the rest of your house. Pick a color that is in the rest of your house. Hand towel, floor mat, and shower curtain can go a long way. A simple artwork piece over toilet. Many people like shelves but I think they can get cluttered and dusty. Personal preference.

Pick your favorite color and another one or two colors that create a color combination that makes your heart sing. Use those colors throughout your home, more of one in one room and more of another in the next until your whole home has a feeling of harmony as you walk from room to room.

exactly! I’d also add the style of your whole house. Doesn’t make sense to have a farmhouse bathroom in a contemporary modern styled house. It all needs to flow together in colors and style.

Is this a main bathroom or a master / IMO master baths need to connect to the masrer bedroom in both color choices and style and need not be anything like the rest of the house decor . But a main bath needs to connect to therest of the home. I need more info but honestly you have a blank slate here

I love a white bathroom❣️Add some colorful towels with a coordinating shower curtain and a colorful bathmat and you get personality in your bathroom. Maybe add a wreath for greenery❣️

Thanks everyone for the comments so far. This is a downstairs bathroom so it doesn’t really have any specific colours.

This is a new build and I’m still figuring out my style. Main colours in house are dark green, white and black. I’ll post some pictures

Do you own any furniture that is high quality that you love?

I started with a few pieces of Scandinavian teak and MCM pieces that were hand me downs 40 years ago. I grew up in an MCM home and loved the clean, simple lines. I am a data analyst and it fits with the way I live. Over the past 40 years I collected one piece at a time and now have more furniture than will fit my current home, so some things are getting re-homed.

My sister had a few hand me downs from her in-laws that were antique Queen Anne pieces. She added to these pieces over the years and over the past 10 years, after retirement, has added some industrial pieces. It isn't a combination that most people think of, but it works. She was a high level executive and threw lots of more formal cocktail parties and dinner parties.

My sister-in-law is a tiny, blond haired, blue eyed girl who was a stay at home mom and loved crafts. Her furnishings are traditional country furnishings (Plaid sofa with a skirt, recliner, oak table and chairs.

Our color palettes are as individual as the style of our furnishings.

I have dark hair and ivory skin tone. I look good in jewel tones and clear, clean colors.

My home has teals and purples and reds.

Susie has olive skin tones and medium brown hair and looks great in fall colors, greens and deep orange reds

Lisa's doesn't have a dark red or orange in her home, she has cornflower blue and peach and cream.

"The best color in the whole world is the one that looks good on you."

We all tend to love the colors that make us feel like a 10. I obviously don't want to paint every room in my home deep red or purple, but I will have these colors in many areas of my home. They will be found in the upholstered furniture, dishware, bedding, linens, area carpets, vases, paintings . . .They will also be found in my garden and plant selections and patio furnishings.

The neutrals, whites and wall colors that I choose have to be the perfect backdrop for the colors I love.
