Integrated butcher block in peninsula?

I’m thinking about having an integrated butcher block end cap in my peninsula. Here’s a rendering. Don’t pay attention to style or color or oddly low lights, haha. The peninsula is going to be a dark teal with brass knobs and the cabinets will be a taupey cream, also it will have drawers - the software just used lower cabinets by default. I love the idea of just chopping away instead of lugging around those Boos blocks like I’m currently doing. My architect suggested a thin brass strip between the walnut and the marble, which I love. Does anyone have experience with something like this? I don’t mind a patina so I’m not expecting this to look pristine, but wondering if there’s something I’m not considering? Thanks!
