Comments (7)In the pic... a light gray like the roof color looks like a good color for garage doors and trim.. soft earth tones to go with brick color ... with a grayish green on the door.. or even a brighter green like the grass or a brighter apple green... a narrow brick border matching the house...to line the edge of the driveway will look a little more finished/refined as well...See MoreHelp Needed: Selecting Exterior Paint Colours
Comments (7)@elcieg This is a very pretty colour! Definitely in line with the trend we are seeing in Toronto but slightly different with the moody blue vs black/grey. Thanks for your input. I really like this idea!...See MoreEdwardian exterior paint colours
Comments (5)Have you taken a look at what colors and color placement this type of house would have had? Not to do an exact reproduction necessarily, but just to inform you what the design intention was, and following that will get you better results rather than just randomly applying different colors in different places. This is a great site which illustrates what I mean - note there are 34 pgs of the befores/afters (links on bottom of page). Oddly by switching to a more historically accurate pallette, the house often looks so much fresher than had they stuck wtih boring greige or whatever the current fad du jour is. As the saying goes - what's old is new again! ETA - take a look at the 1916 brick at the very bottom of pg 1 - is this kinda what you are after? Red brick with what looks like hague blue + a cream -beautiful!!! Exterior Paint Color Portfolio Archives - OldHouseGuy Blog...See MoreExterior Paint Colour?

It is hard to imagine what to do with the red trim -- it really draws the eye in and distracts from the pretty natural elements around you. Try some samples next to the cedar and cover the existing paint/trim so you're not distracted by it. ETA: forgot to say that these are Sherwin Williams colors...See MoreHU-187528210
