Can I share our summer project?
Comments (11)Thanks! :) blackcat333, we did it ourselves. Well, my husband did most of it. We have 3 small kids, and the youngest is now 19 months, so I couldn't let him out of my sight, or he would have been up the ladder! lol My husband gets most of the credit. It was the scraping and sanding that took so long. I think if we didn't have such young kids, and a really busy summer, we would have finished more. I think seeing how the result will look, will help us get more done next summer. The priming and painting didn't take much at all. We used Benjamin Moore paints. The body is Kennebunkport Green, the trim is Windham Cream, and the accent is New London Burgandy. I really wanted a plum, and this was the closest without it being too dark and looking brown, or too purple. I'm really pleased. I'd love to see some pictures of your home....See Moreworking on our next small project, advise please.
Comments (10)Thanks loribee and coopersbaily.. well, I goofed, I thought the price of the bracket was 18.99 for two, it turns out that was for one. duh.. well, I learned something today that I didn't know... I ordered the original bracket on ebay 18.99 and the shipping was 9.99...total 28.98 So I called the company directly to order another bracket...I just got off the phone with the company rep and they quoted me, 18.99 plus 4.49 for the shipping for the second bracket...total 23.44 ...I asked them why I was charged 9.99 on my original order, and they said, it's because I ordered the first bracket on ebay... didn't know ebay doubles the shipping! Did you? I'll never make that mistake again. __________________...See MoreOur liquor has a home! Next project (almost) completed...
Comments (15)Funny, Williamsem. I guess I never really thought about it. We like to entertain and it makes sense to have a nice space to prepare drinks and store everything in one general location so it's ready to go. Currently, I have to go to some effort to retrieve the bottles and glassware, create a place to set it out, yada yada. It's annoying and I always forget something. I figure the easier I make things for myself, the more often I'll feel like entertaining and offering up a glass of wine, martini, cosmo, or whatever else I have the makings for. So it's all about function. Yeah, that's the ticket. Function.. :)...See Moreguess where I am going for the next four evenings
Comments (7)UGH! that sounds like it gets loud and outta hand. Speaking of which, we were privy to a "live" cop show. My workmate got there before I did and she said the officer standing there with her and she heard, crunch, crunch, crunch... cars bopping into each other at a light. By the time I got there, he was finishing up going through the biggest cause of the problem's purse (likely drunk driver, considering she was really wobbly) and only her car left. They moved her car into one of our lots and then conducted a field sobriety test and wrote reports for a couple of hours. I can't imagine how the call must've sounded going over the radio, but it must've been "multi-vehicle accident" because shortly after I got there a hook and ladder truck, a regular fire truck, and an ambulance, all fought through the rush hour traffic, clogged with CMA goers, to get to the scene. oy, it was a mess....See MoreJilly
