Help me salvage the catastrophic bathroom
Comments (2)I'm sorry if I was unclear. The preslope was done, then it was hotmopped, then a mortar bed was laid above the tar. In other words, the floor tiles are not set directly on to the tar with thinset; there is a mortar base under them. The walls have wonderboard under the tile. I think there's green drywall behind that, or tar paper. Can't remember that far back. Renee...See MoreAlternative Door Ideas for HVAC Closet - Help, Please!
Comments (19)mike_home, You are correct about the two holes in the sheetrock. I agree that having them in that location isn't efficient. They will be behind the door to the laundry room, and the HVAC guy's solution to that was to "just leave the door open." And yes, he should have known better ... he did know better, as did I, but he did what was convenient for him, and now I have the mess to clean up. The closet in which he placed the unit was preexisting -- the framing wasn't changed. The only change here was removing paneling and installing drywall. I want the unit moved into the utility closet that's ten feet or so away, but the building inspector won't allow it there with the tankless water heater on the adjacent wall. The plumbing has to be changed, so I think I can get approval to move the HVAC unit there afterwards. It's just a matter of finding someone else to do it. Thanks again for your input!...See MoreHelp me with closet design ideas please?
Comments (3)You start a closet design with knowing how much space you need for the stuff you own. Do you have a ton of shoes, alot of long hanging dresses and coats do you share this closet ? All those questions need answers. This is not a huge closet so it needs to be weel thought out.You could do hanging space all along the left wall and across the back with 12” deep storage on the right for shoes , accessories etc. Hanging space needs to be 24” deep to accomodate hangers you could do that on the left and a dresser on the back wall. So think about what needs to go in there to start. I have 90 pairs of shoes that is where my closet design always starts...See MoreAccent wallpaper in closet home office? Please help me decide!
Comments (7)Instead of wallpapering, I’d avoid the trouble and cost, just paint a great paint color and add colorful curtains to hide the clothes. Add a large piece of art on the far wall and unique lighting in ceiling. It will be a lively space and if landlord requires, slapping on white paint before you move is pretty easy. Also replace lighting to the original and take your light with you....See MoreDonald
