what could I add here?

Try to ignore the computer monitors. They are a necessity of working from home and will soon be in another room. Also the covering for the couch- my dog thinks he owns it. This is a house I am renting so I can’t do anything permanent. My first project was to improve the giant wall of white shelves and I think it looks decent. I could probably use some plants- like a snake plant in the corner. Any other ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Here's my BOP for this year. The tree is so large all I added is my deer. I think I have a smaller purple tree but it hasn't come out from hiding yet.LOL If it does, I may do some tweaking and repost. When I found this little purple dress ornament couldn't resist and thought it went well with my purple hat tree topper. I was hoping to bring the veil down on the hat but didn't want to cover up my little ornament under it. Here's a closeup of the feathers on the hat and the picture on the ornament. Photobucket is not wanting to resize so it's really a closeup.LOL Hope others will continue to fill up this fun post. I had never heard of decorating the bop before coming here. I love telling others about it for a laugh. And to think some think all we decorate is tables on Holidays.LOL They really should get out more often and check things out before being so vocal. Punk

Oh dear. I thought the top pic was the desirable 'after'. I was thinking the same as GG. It looks as if you had some interesting mature plantings there which just needed some maintenance. What are these new yellow and purple flowers? And what will you have to look at when they're not in bloom? You'll be seeing far fewer birds now the greenery is all stripped away. But the new walkway is smart.

With the black and white main components you can paint the walls a bright fun happy color, specially while the kids are small. If you don't want to paint then get some large colorful art, but you would need to lower that towel bar to have room for that. Also you could get some patterned tile to add some interest.

What would it do to the exterior of the home? Cannot tell of the room/wall is even large enough for another window. You would hire a carpenter if there is room. What kind of siding? Labor probably $3k, COLA dependent, plus a window.

Lol, already have a dog bed, but he prefers the couch. Ottoman is a good idea. It would need to be a small one. Very nice lamp- I’ll look at those. Thanks for your input.

Trying to accomplish- i think I have the basic look I want. It just feels like something is missing, maybe just small things, like plants etc. so adding interesting details, I guess.

I also can’t tell from looking at your picture whether the floor to ceiling windows are doors as well. If any of them are fixed, looks like you get a lot of light, so an etagere or an open book shelf for plenty of plants could be really nice

Instead of standard issue rental light fixtures in the ceiling, you could do one of these, since they are quite inexpensive. If you have never done electrical work and aren’t totally sure where all the fuse boxes are, be sure to get someone who knows all that to install them.
