help with area rug and curtains for couch

Please throw some suggestions my way on ideas for what color area rug and curtains that would go well together with this sectional I ordered. I have light grey walls with dark brown(wood) trim and molding. I wanted to brighten/lighten up my livingroom a bit.. my husband works in a sawmill so most days he comes home with dirty work boots and forgets to remove them before sitting on our couch.

Look for a polypropylene rug..they are tough and easy to lean...perfect for heavy use areas, busy families and pets...

Any big store that sells furnishings will have catalogs that will show interiors full of their decor etc, displaying different options in a pleasing way, and giving you all sorts of clues of what goes with what. Whether it's Ballard Designs, Pottery Barn, CB2, West Elm, Anthropologie..you name it. The main problem with it-you don't want your room to look like a catalog one..:) The companies show their products. Your house should show you..which is much more interesting and complicated. So take clues from the pics, and then hunt stuff, partially, elsewhere. And especially look everywhere for art that touches you deeply. Look at it like a book..since that what art does-it makes us feel and think things, it transports us, it can even change us...would you match a book exactly to your decor? no, right? (tan and grey look great together. lots of beaches are a bit tan, grey, and a lot of seafoam..))

Might I suggest solid drapery, and I agree with the others, go HIGH! But add some trimming to the drapery. It creates a delicious custom look. And it's a timeless. While patterns come and go...trends fade away, this classic look will stand the test of time.

Hi Jean! What a pretty drapery fabric! I love how it coordinates with the sofa. I would suggest pulling out the cream, brown, and maybe the taupe colors that are in the leaves and flowers for your rug. Since you have a medium scale floral for the drapes, a large scale geometric rug would be a nice contrast. I can find some ideas by googling "lattice rug cream and brown" or "geometric rug cream and brown." You could pull out the green from the drapery fabric, but I'd look at that just being an accent color. And use the darkest of the greens. Otherwise, you'll be in more danger of clashing with the sofa. Beyond that, I would toss your drapery fabric in the car, take it with you to some rug stores, and have a fun day of shopping! I’m pretty excited!!! As soon as I seen it and I went and ordered it!! It’s so perfect! I can’t wait for it to get here..
I love monochromatic and neutral colors and Lots of textures. It’s just so hard to put it all together lol I also like the boho style stuff just without all the bright colors 😂 I want it to look and feel calm and comfortable

Sorry it may be confusing..I am HIWE and Julie Zygmontowicz..just depends on what account I am posting on🤗

that is my Living room...I have a bit of a mix of styles but keeping it monochromatic.....it has blended them together very well....you can add a few boho pillows but keep things classic it will last for the long haul and not be trendy..
