French doors & bannister painted black, white or SW Urbane Bronze?
Our daughter bought a fixer upper and she needs advice on which color to paint these french doors and bannister (and hand rail). House is smaller than it looks in this pic with 8 foot ceilings (open entry way which is nice). Light fixture being replaced.
Black, White or SW Urbane Bronze?
Spindles will be painted white. Floors and carpet are being ripped out (LVP on entire first floor and new carpet on stairs and upstairs). Wall color will be Accessible Beige or BM Edgecomb Gray (haven't decided yet).
Sorry we didn't get a better photo of the stairway but the other side is just a handrail on sheet rock which will need painted.

Comments (16)Update on our door paint-- after priming in gray and using satin paint over, we've decided to go back with semigloss. The satin was fine for the doors at the entry, where there is a lot of natural light, but we have a hallway with five doors opening on it and the satin paint just sucks all the light out of the area. So on Monday we are reprinting these seven doors in semi gloss, then will go after the other twelve doors on this level. Comments (11)Dollars to donuts you can't paint any of the "window" frame that dark. You need to check the warranty for color specifications - usually states no colors with an LRV less than 55. So, that might help you decide what to do rather quickly. Same with the door. Going from white to the color you're considering is dramatic. It's usually based on price. Comments (8)All the shutters need to go IMO new garage doors with more glass and then if you want urban bronze all the windows need to match with the trim around them. IMO a white house among trees is always going to show the grubby stuff that comes from trees I love a grayed green in amongst trees the peaks are not IMO worth accenting so whatever you choose for siding color just do those the sam I would do nice pergolas over the garage doors with some good vinses grwoing over them and change the window to a really nice vent instaed....See MoreJeanne Cardwell

This is the new flooring. She just doesn't like the "oak look" of the door and railing. They are painting kitchen cabinets white. She likes Modern Farmhouse.The floors, upstairs carpet and PAINT will all be done before they move in so she really needs to decide now. I suppose she could do it later, but she really wants it done while they are making the mess.
She still hasn't decided on which two of these will work.

3 years agoWhite trim black doors and stairs like this but riser in a wood that matches the new wood floors. If that can't happen right away do the risers black and do a sisal runner

3 years agoI’m sorry. I posted the wrong color earlier. For the entire first floor and entry way she is trying to decide between BM Edgecomb Gray and SW Accessible Beige. Any opinions on this? Thanks!

3 years agoI would go with bone China or old stone to coordinate with the floor. Depending on how much light the house gets. Old stone is my pick if the house has lots of light but if you need something lighter then go with Bone China.

3 years agoGiven the proximity to other doors, I think white might create a better flow. Most of the time they will probably be open (I rarely close mine).
If she likes the idea of black, there are other ways to use; front door, bannister, rug, lighting. It’s an easy job to paint after the fact, as the sanding will have already been done.
In regards to staircase, a runner vs full carpeting is a nicer look and if treads or risers are in bad shape, they can be painted.

3 years agoI am currently building and used Urbane Bronze for my interior doors and stair rails. I LOVE how it turned out. My balusters will be SW Pure White (same as trim) and walls are Repose Gray.
