I have rugs on either side of the bed as well as one at the foot. I can't stand to walk on hard floors while barefoot.

One rug ...with only the end of the bed on top of it will be much easier to vacuum...three runners will not stay in place as well...and will be more difficult to clean around..with tiny patches of flooring that need to be cleaned differently/ separately...never mind the patterns will be more distracting on three separate rugs

I have a king size bed with an oriental runner on each side and at the foot. They are the same pattern, so no distraction. The side ones do not go past the end of bed, stay in place with a gripper type pad and are easy to vacuum around. I love the look of the large rug partially under the bed, but I currently lay on the floor to vacuum the hardwood under my bed. The thought of lying on the floor trying to vacuum a carpet under the bed is more than I want to tackle. Moving my very heavy bed (to vacuum) is almost impossible, so this works for me. I like your top two choices.

Thanks for the continued input. Good news is that vacuuming isn’t an issue - we have a robot vac that will get under the bed.

It’s a cleaner & more luxurious look to have one lager rug under bed so the sides & bottom have a stretch of rug. With runners you have lines all over between flooring & runner ends

Ok - one right is clearly winning, and I don’t disagree. BUT the problem may be that I think my choices are all too busy for the clean lines of the room. Suggestions of different rugs?

this link is to a rug on Houzz with a muted blue pattern - something like this adds some depth & texture & doesn’t compete with your wall art. Except for the art everything in the room is a solid. I’d like a bit of pattern to add texture. I like the second of the 3 rugs ypu show because it’s pattern adds texture & it’s an orderly pattern that goes with clean lines of the room.

PS - like @Design Girl, I like the first one too but wasn’t sure about the pattern with the slats or pickets on the headboard & footboard- might be too many lines

I think the room could stand the personality offered by a patterned rug...but the pattern and color could be a little more muted to go along with the monochromatic feel.. right now the dark blue coverlet is sort of dictating color... a more multi color rug would allow changes in bedding colors and/or even a patterned cover ...for a change ..perhaps seasonally...the need for pattern and color is accentuated by the dominant one color decor /background
