lake house family room ideas

Hi! We purchased a charcoal leather sofa and loveseat and I would like to decorate the family room with lake meets hunting meets rustic/industrial style. I have some great snow shoes for the walls, european elk mount, not sure about rugs, lights and coffee and end tables. Here are the pics of new couches and the area where they will go (removing old stuff). Advice is appreciated!

I'd start by finding the rug first. I think a kilm rug would be the right direction and then pull color from that for other things. Rustic/Industrial can be brought in with either metal or wood tables.

Will the sofa and loveseat be delivered soon? Much easier to work with them in the room.

A distressed rug would work also.

Depends on your budget- if no big changes can happen now, move your TV cabinet to the wall where the tall cubby is and use it as an entry bench- get a cushion made for it. The TV sits too low. You could turn the large cubby on its side and use it as your TV stand- but don’t fill with random stuff- use books, quality. You could also move the large cubby to that little enclosed area, add wall hooks, and your kids’ things go there - cubby could be painted to match walls to appear more custom. A large area rug with a streamlined couch and a chair or two that are not bulky- check consignment stores and FB marketplace- there are some nice quality items you can score. You have to be willing to put in the time and effort.

No skae siding on thta style of home for sure . Is that brick the dark part under the windows on the house? Does the window in the laundry room actually provide any light ?I think I would keep the real windows and not the fake one . I like the fact that the windows on the left provide some natural light in the carport .What color are you thinking for the siding ? I lkike a dark gray with natural cedar and I would do the gable in the cedar too probably.Sort of this look but no white garage door for sure

thanks for the suggestion, couches will not be delivered until April 20. I love the idea of a stressed rug with color. so that it's not so brown/black and dark in that corner. I am trying to find coffee/end tables on a budget, I found these, coffee table comes with 2 end tables (although the end table is not as tall as the couch arms). I am also thinking of one of those arching lights or should I go with standard lamp on table for the corner?

I'd try and see if you can come up with tables that aren't a set. It makes it more visually interesting. Also, think about doing a round coffee table instead to break up all the linear.

This is a livingroom I helped a Houzzer with that I think is somewhat the style/vibe you are trying to achieve? Note the round coffee table. We started from scratch with everything and the rug was the 1st thing we focused on. Then we built the room from there. So I would also tell you to focus on the rug before the tables right now. As if we bought the tables and they were wood before we selected the rug, the rug would not have worked. And look how great it looks in this space. The deer head though ended up in the stairwell-lol. Have you checked Craigslist and Facebook Market Place? You may find some great finds on those. Especially if you are in a market where there are a lot of 2nd homes.
